Chris Simms

I watched the Bucs play-off game earlier. I was wondering what anyone thought of Chris Simms' playing? At times, he flashed some real effulgence, but then he threw several interceptions that reminded me too much of his days at UT.

I think he is a perennial average QB. At times he will look great, and it is obvious he has the desire to win, but he seems to make rash decisions in the pocket when under pressure (not necessarily from a defense, but when he's feeling the pressure of the big game).

*yawn*

Simms can't handle the pressure... I guess that's why he had 4 late-game comebacks in 10 games, and would've been 6 if not for a missed field goal against the Bears and the dropped touchdown yesterday. I guess that's why he's regarded around the league as one of the best quarterbacks under pressure... Tampa fans refer to him as having "ice water in his veins".

And "several" interceptions? Try two, and neither were bad reads or bad throws. They were bad luck plays where a poor Tampa offensive line let the Washington DL get too much penetration and they tipped the ball, and it fell to the wrong place. Nothing remotely close to a choke.

Simms is one of the best quarterbacks in the game in pressure situations and I think he'll be a very solid starter for years to come.

people give up on QBs WAY too early. A QB's 32 start is when you see what the QB will be like. He is young and inexperienced.
