Chris Bonner: QB, CSU-Pueblo

Mari-OWNED!

Bucco Bruce
Just wondering if any of the board draftniks have done any research on this kid. He is obviously by no means the perfect prospect, but the small-school quarterback is drawing Ryan Mallett and Joe Flacco comparisons and has a lot of qualities that O'Brien has shown that he looks for.

Pros
-6'7" 237lbs.
-Played under center in a pro-style offense
-Had full control at the line of scrimmage
-Cannon arm
-Pocket mobility, capable of "climbing the ladder"

Cons
-Weak competition
-Lacks touch on his passes
-Tends to only throw fastballs regardless of the situation

Wouldn't mind seeing the Texans give this kid a shot, whether that's as a 6th or 7th round pick, or more likely as a priority free agent. In a very weak quarterback draft class Bonner has some qualities that is worth taking into consideration as a quarterback that I would like to see O'Brien develop. So TT, what do y'all think?

Haven't done any digging on Bonner. All I know is that he carved up a pretty good Sam Houston defense early in the year.

They were up 47-7 at one point in a game that they weren't expected to be competitive in. He finished with 255 yards and 3 TDs. Most of that was picked up before halftime.
