Is the second-most* annoying guy in ESPN a Texans fan? I remember seeing him depressed in that GB last year and did not show highlights, he just showed someone giving away kids books or something. And, I never recall him dissing the Texans when everyone else was.

As an elder statesman for ESPN, maybe he just has a little more class.
 
heh-heh, I actually like Berman. A little over the top, but I don't think NFL Primetime would be what it is without his personality.

Maybe he's just a fan of underdogs. Without a winning season in franchise history, there is no doubt the the Texans are the NFL's underdog. ;)

Sure, he can entertain you without going for the cheap, easy laugh of kicking a team while it's down. That can be defined as a classy, in a sports world kind of way.
 
Berman has always been fond of Dom Capers. Dom's one of the NFL's all time good guys.

Yeah, and a glass of warm milk and some cookies on a rainy Sunday afternoon make me all fuzzy on the inside, too...but come on.

Dom being a class guy was great for the first couple years of our team's existence. It set the tone for us in terms of the Texans being a "class" organization. But when the professor starts coming to class in his underwear and eats the goldfish out of the class aquarium...it's time to move on.

I would hire the crew from The Longest Yard right now.

(...which is pathetic to think I'd sell my soul for a consistently contending team, huh?)

Nothing at all wrong with class and being good people. I admire good people myself.
 
Class without results is a "good feeling," but point me to where anybody ever won anything by being grandfatherly without the skills to win?

John Wooden comes to mind, but that guy is just in a completely other world than the rest of the poeple on this earth. Closest thing to the balance of class and raw, killer instinct.

I agree that class is important. I just think Dommy's got too much class and not enough shark in him.

Then again, you look at Del Rio and it's the opposite (IMO). What a contrast.
 
where in anyones post did anyone say that being a good guy should come with winning or anything of that nature.. the point was that Berman isnt rippin on Houston, because he respects Dom. Football at the end of the day is still just a game, whether Dom is a good coach or not, he is still a stand up human being
 
Wait Berman #2 most annoying? Dude... when he does that lil curly "whoop" sound with every little juke move... I just want someone to hit him in the face with a aluminum bat. He has to be the most annoying hands down..

With Kenny Mayne's retarded I think im funny but make no sense sketch comedy skits coming in at #2..

But He has to exhibit class because he is the senior NFL Analyst not to mention he sets everyone else up to bash the teams.. He never pick sides in anything he always poses the questions.
 
How can you hate kenny mayne? Did you never watch his long interviews on sports center? When he tried out for a ball boy at the us open was the funniest report ive ever seen.

Bobby Bowden wins many games and he is "grandfatherly". It can be done, but it is rare.
 
berman and kenny are my favorite guys. kenny has a different type of humor only certain people can admire i guess. i like bermans highlights and the fact that he does follow teams and is sincere when he isnt doing highlights. i would believe berman over "mr. im a steak"

and its "as cool as the other side of the pillow" - stu is pretty annoying to me. and his eye just trips me out.

Some people don't like Joe Theisman and I find him to be quite good. He's football smart and I enjoy him on the broadcasting team.

The only announcer I don't like is John Madden and that's just because his thoughts wonder so much...he's very smart but I don't care for the delivery.

As for Coach Capers...who wouldn't like him? He's a fine gentleman and from all I've heard as good a man as there is. I've NEVER heard anybody that works with him that doesn't like him.
 
Rome is a jerk, and i thoroughly enjoyed it when he got his butt kicked a while back by one of his guests. stephen A Smith never insults his guests.. Rome is two faced and will talk trash about his guests, then play nice sometimes when they are there in person.
 
Skip Bayless is the worst. By far. There is no doubt.

He is annoying even when I am in agreement with him. That is a special gift.

But then again, he is one of those people who just enjoys being a jerk. He is a media troll.
 
I have to agree. Skip Bayless is so bad that I can't even remotely respect him. I don't see how people like that can be so bad at their job, yet still maintain it.
 
Jim Rome is annoying...along with..... salisbury steak...Irvin (sniff,sniff)....Around the Horn guy(host)....Stephen A. Smith....and that one guy with the goti, can't remember his name but I think he used to play, and he always turnes his head a little when the camera is directed at him.

To follow up with my favorite it is the PTI guys, I've been watching for a long while, next it is Chris Berman, Racheal Nicholes (she's hott especially when she says ESPennn) and the Jaws guy.

Yeah, I think Rome is the worst. Mostly because he talks like he's right all the time, but he's totally WRONG about half the time. Can't stand him. Total dumass.

I also don't like Steve Smith on his own. I really like him when he can play off of other broadcasters, but he's way too much when he's got a show all to himself.
 
Steven A. Smith, Jim Rome, Skip Bayless, John Madden, Woody Paige, Sean "sorry *** QB" Salisberry, almost everybody from around the horn, the list goes on and on. Rome does go overboard a lot, and will get his *** kicked again someday for it.

I haven't liked Madden since he became a whore for the Cowboys.

I like Thiesman because he at least know what he is talking about. Jaws is okay up to a point.

Yeah, that's a segment on Cold Pizza. They do it four times a show (1st and Ten obviously being the first segment).

They can be humorous at times, but it's not something that I schedule to tune in regularly. I think the arguments are just part of their shtick. Cold Pizza is a lightweight show to begin with, which is probably why its an ESPN 2 show.

I'm not a big fan of Salsbury. He's got knowledge, but something about him just rubs me wrong. At least he admits that he wasn't a great NFL QB.

I've started liking Michael Irvin as an analyst (couldn't stand the guy as a Cowboy). But as a talking head, he's entertaining....unless he's waxing poetically about TO, and then I think he's a man in love, so I could do without all that jazz.
