charger fans:Reggie Bush? Overhyped and Overrated?

Running backs are never taken first overall for a reason and usually not even taken that high except for last year. Short shelf life, get banged up, and there are more quality backs coming out every year. If we traded down we could get a quality back in the third probably but the thing is we really don't need one. So why draft Bush? idonno:

I agree with you.. I am more in line with a guy that can carry the rock 20-25 times and wear a defense down in the 4th quarter... that is the type I like.

one thing was nice on that MB ..it was "football" talk

A complete RB is always nice; someone like a Terrell Davis who can do it all, and is dominating to boot. The thing is, Reggie Bush can be (as it has been stated) very much like Marshall Faulk. He can carry the ball 20 times, but you can also play him by just giving him 20 "touches" throughout the game. It is up to DD (unless he gets traded), Morency, and Wells to pick up the slack in the running game.

Simply by having Bush on the field on 3rd and long will make us better at pass protection. Will people even want to blitz for fear of a screen to Bush? How much worse will it be when we use a double screen, fake it to Bush and throw a TE screen to the other side? Having a Marshall Faulk-like player creates so many mismatches and problems that your offense gains the advantage.

If the Texans do end up making the trade for Troy Williamson like we've heard, we could see the second coming of the greatest show on turf in Houston. Bush, Williamson, Mathis, Johnson... that is some amazing speed. If the O-line gets fixed and we get a solid DC, the Texans will be a much more exciting version of the Colts.

I dunno..i think people are underestimating Bush here.

The more I think about it.. the more I think that he could put on 15 pounds and be one of the best RBs in the league. He CAN run with power... he has shown a willingness to drop his shoulders and plow into someone... he just doesnt have the size to do it effectively in the NFL. Put 15 pounds on him or so..and he WILL have the size to plow through an LB.

He has no injury history.. and I dont see any reason to think he might at this point. You cant NOT draft a talent cause you are afraid he will be injury prone...when he has no history of it. If Westbrook, Dunn, and Barber can play in this league without getting too beat up..then Bush can do it.

Just the more I think about it.. the more convinced I become that Bush is a prospect you CANNOT pass up.

Remember Eddie George?? He was a monster of a running back. My style. Pop you in the gums, run yo but over....

Until he met mister Ray Lewis........... then they started talking about him being soft, and he started to look soft...
