Chad Beasley now starting @ RG

It's official the apocalypse is near.

Maybe if CC would stop throwing away 2nd and 3rd draft choices like they were pennies on a sidewalk.....:brickwall

They are just trying out people and seeing what they can do. It's still early and hopefully Weigert can come back healthy for our first regular season game.

Did I miss something? Like the coaches naming this guy as the starter. People need to relax, and wait and see who plays for Wiegert next weekend.

The way I see it you put this guy in with the first string for a couple of reasons. First reason is maybe he's managed to get your attention somehow. Maybe he looks good and you want a better look at him. That leads to the second reason which is this. If you put him in with the rest of the first string line you're getting a chance to see him surrounded by known quantities. Any of you ever consider that?

You put him between McKinney and Wade during practice because you know what you're going to get from them. It's then easier to see what he did (or didn't) accomplish in that spot.

Beasley was running first team during the public practice session last Wednesday night against the Broncos while Wiegert sat out. I almost expected to see him instead of Weary when Wiegert went out Saturday. Actually, I expected to see Milford instead of either of them since he replaced Wiegert for the last two games last season.

They've been playing Milford at second team RT behind Wade. They know what Milford and Weary Fred can do but they don't know what Beasley's all about. I guess this is the test. Hopefully it won't be at the expense of a QB. Sometimes if your line is good enough you can hide a guard. We can't do that.

Guess I did, miss something. Thnaks for the info; does anybody know how he looked with the first team?

Weary didn't look all that good Saturday night when he came in for Zach. I expected Brown to come in, but Weary did. He got pushed back a few times, and was absolutely flattened once too. Might as well see what Beasley has in the preseason. I'll definately be hoping for the best with Zach out.

Plenty of guys in the league being "protected" by UDFAs especially in the middle of the line. Focus on whether dude is better than Brown and/or Weary neither of whom has really asserted himself as a starter in the league after 3 full years to do so.

I was standing with Keith from hpf watching team drills and the term 'revolving door' came up at least once when the Broncs came heavy with the inside rush. I was a bit surprised - to say the least - that he was behind Wiegert in the rotation. Obviously the coaches see something they like and they are probably giving him a long look because they know what they have with their other guys. It seems that Weary has dropped out of favor.

maybee they are trying to make the rest of the line look better by putting in someone who is worse than any of them. this guy might get beat so much we forget about wand or mckinney.

I dunno....Weary just never panned out but they were really big on Milford at one time and I'm thinking many had him as our LG for the future - that was that stretch when Chester was our LT. And by the way, what the hell is so important about keeping Chester at guard now that it looks like they aren't going with Wand over there at tackle ? Chester's 2nd year was easily the best LT performance we've had here. Its almost like Cass is bent on getting to next years draft to finally get that that "franchise" LT out of what is suppose to be a great class for that position. I guess some teams have to
have an ongoing "QB controversy", seems like we need to have an ongoing
"LT controversy".

On Brown, he looks at times dominate in run blocking, but more times than not he was been a terrible pass blocker. I think this is what has kept him of the field.

I agree that Pitts appears to be the bast LT the Texans have, but it does not look like they have another guard that they trust.
