Casserly on 610 this morning...

OzzO

.. and then?
For those that might have missed some of his comments....

- Deloach is gonna start for Payne
- Fans get there early enough to welcome the players with the pre-game introductions, that stokes their fire.
- When DE-FENSE is displayed on the board, we need the fans to respond as such.
- He noted it gets loud on the field thanks to the fans, keep it up.

It was just a short stint as they were broadcasting from the Woodlands for TEXANS week.

I don't really know the situation with Payne, but as for us being loud, we should be cheering, All the time!!! When that defense gets on the field, we should explode, letting the opposing team have heaing trouble, and the defense to get amped up! D-Fense, D-Fense, D-Fense!!!!! :headbang:

From this morning on 610...

1) Get in the stadium EARLY so EVERYONE can participate in the pregame and most importantly the introductions of the players. Yell the last name!

2) Be LOUD!!! Yell DE-FENSE when they put it up on the Big Screen. He wants us to use that more often, louder, and more clearly this year!!!

We are no longer an expansion team. Time for us as fans to truly make a difference in the game and make this place even harder for visiting teams to play in.

Bottom line.... show up early, be loud, and stay late! (That means not leaving before the final whistle.)

My guess is that Deloach will start, but Payne will see quite a bit of playing time. Maybe they don't want to throw Payne into the fire right away. Just my guess.

Just working Payne into Game Shape if I had to guess. Don't want to rush him in too quickly and lose him to injury again. He will see plenty of snaps against the chargers.

Our group is rolling out of Groves Texas at 6:15 A.M,we should be at the stadium no later the 7:30.I am bringing my 14 year old son.(his first Texan game). He is already fired up ready to go.he asked me last night what will it be like,I told him "You have to be there to believe it,Just picture 70000 people just like your dad screaming theyre heads off" lol: Sec 116 6 days and counting :headbang:

Sort of how I understood them to mean it also. He needs his time to work up to speed like everyone else.

He couldn't emphasize that enough. The players notice the stadium not filled up when introductions are made.

I am working on getting some New Yorkers I work with here to come to the opener and see what Texas Football is all about. One is a Patriots fan and the othere is a Giants fan. I have no doubt they will be VERY impressed. Like you said... you just have to be there to believe it!

I am cutting a Dove hunt short to drive back from Laredo Sat night so I can be there at 7:30 sharp myself to meet the gang for our Tailgate festivities.

We now have opening NFL week upon us. Isnt it beautiful!!

This makes sense, because Seth's time in the exhibition game vs. TB last week was his first real game competition in a full year. Jerry DeLoach has
been a regular in our D line for the first 2 years as a DE, and the NT and DE positions are basically interchangeable. I'm more comfortable with Seth's knee than I am with Gary Walker's groin injury. I think there is atleast as much of a chance the starters for most of the year will be Smith,Payne, & DeLoach instead of Smith,Payne, & Walker."

They gonna think they playing under the runway at the airport, *I wish could be there but know that we will be screaming along with all of you wherever we are

Texans Win the ONLY expansion team EVER win 3 straight season openers

Loud when the defense is on the field YES. . . Loud when the offense is on the field NO. . . Remeber the little problem we had during the preseason game against the Cowboys? We want the offense to be able to hear eachother!

i say have you ever been to a college game? i really dont know how UT does it, they cheer just as loud for the offense as they do the defense

how pathetic, a college team can do it, but we cant...tisk tisk tisk

Yeah, but you cheer for the offense AFTER the play. Before the play, the QB needs to be able to call audibles and the players need to hear the snap count.

So what your saying is UT fans are *****s. No wonder they always lose to OU they can't even get a home field advantage.
