EDITOR'S NOTE: Tight end James Casey, drafted in the fifth round (152nd overall) this April, is a former minor league baseball player who joined the Texans as a 24-year-old rookie from Rice. He has been chronicling his rookie season with weekly diary entries for HoustonTexans.com.
Before we say anything about football, I have some really big news: My wife is pregnant. I've never been more excited about anything in my life.
I've had a lot of stuff happen to me in the last year as far as going to a bowl game in college, declaring for the draft, getting drafted, going through training camp and making the team and now playing in NFL games. But having a baby is definitely going to trump all that.
Congratulation to Casey for a job well done.
All kidding aside, heartfelt congratulations to the Casey's!

My wife, Kylie, and I have been married almost four years now, and it's something we've definitely been looking forward to. When you get married, your friends and family are always asking about when you're going to have kids. We got married at 21, and everybody always thought we had a kid or we got married because we had a kid or something.
She's still really early, like seven or eight weeks in. I can't wait, though. I've got so much stuff going through my mind, wondering what the kid's going to be like, if it's going to be a boy or a girl. We went to the doctor this past Tuesday and actually got to see the heartbeat. It was a little-bitty heart beating like 100 miles an hour. That was really neat. The due date is supposedly June 4, which would work out perfectly because that's in the offseason.
