Carr's option

When does the Texans have to give Carr his 8 mil option, or tell him to go look elsewhere?
seems it would have been done if he was definitely it..

According to Charlie P.'s on 790 he will be signed to his option after Feb 2 for accounting reason.

I don't think they are going to franchise David Carr. If they do they might as well extend him to the 3 year contract and then trade him because it will cost them less money.

Franchise tag means the average of the top 5 players at the position. That means that you have to average the salaries of Manning, McNabb, Vick, Palmer, and Culpepper. All of who have contracts north of $100 million dollars.

If we are going to draft Young I don't believe that we will see Carr here next year.

He's only going to get the two-year $5 million extention. He hasn't earned the $8 million.

There is zero evidence from the statements of Casserly and McNair to suggest he won't get the full 8 million extension.

He won't.

Provide a link to contradict the several thread where Casserly is quoted saying different. The idea the Casserly would lie is not beyond belief, but getting caught in something so boldface is just stupid, which he is not.

It may be your opinion that Carr does not desire it, but the administration of the Texans are writing the checks.

Casserly said they intend to exercise Carr's option. It does not matter if its a 3yr/$8mill option or a 2yr/$5mill option...its an option and that's thier choices.

I don't know what they will do...just stating the facts.

Casserly shouldn't even be there. He's the main reason this team is a disaster. I would take anything he says with a grain of salt.

Casserly actually said that they intend to give him the full 3 year $8 million option. He has said it before the Rose Bowl, he has said it after the Rose Bowl. Reeves likes him, Casserly likes him, McNair likes him, Kubiak likes him, and the talent evaluators that they talked to around the league like him.

But I guess your desire is more reliable than evidence.
