Hall of Fame
From the Chicago Sports Review - they do a ranking of the best starts to a pro carreer. Here are the top ten.

Here are the top 10 pro debuts, plus a few extras for good measure:

10. Julius Erving, Virginia Squires (ABA), 1971-In his first pro game, Dr. J dunked on Artis Gilmore and Dan Issel so hard he fell on his back.

9. George McAfee, Chicago Bears, 1940-In his first exhibition game as a rookie, his 75-yard punt return with 37 seconds remaining won the game. In his first regular-season game, he returned a kickoff 93 yards and later threw a TD pass.

8. Rod Brind’amour, St. Louis Blues, 1989-Scored his first goal on his first shot in a playoff game against the North Stars.

7. Craig Janney, Boston Bruins, 1987-In the first quarter of his first game, the opposing goalie made a poke check; the puck hit Janney in the face, causing a cut that required three stitches, then bounced back into the net.

6. Jerry Stackhouse, Philadelphia 76ers, 1995-Drained a game-winning three in his first exhibition game, then dropped 27 points on the Bullets in his first regular-season game.

5. Lebron James, Cleveland Cavaliers, 2003-Even with the pressure of being the most heralded prospect in memory, King James had 25 points, nine assists, six boards, and four steals in his first game.

4. Anquan Boldin, Arizona Cardinals, 2003-Totaled 217 yards on 10 catches in his debut, the best-ever for a receiver playing his first game.

3. David Carr, Houston Texans, 2002-Threw a touchdown for his first pro completion, then threw a 65-yard touchdown to help Houston beat Dallas in the first game in franchise history.

2. Y.A. Tittle, Baltimore Colts, 1950-Threw four touchdowns in his first game to help the Colts upset the New York Yankees, 45-28.

1. Ted Breitenstein, St. Louis Browns (baseball), 1892-Hurled a no-hitter in his very first start.

Others receiving consideration:

-Marques Anderson of the Packers returned an interception for a touchdown in his first game.
-In his first game, Billy Cowan of the Cubs struck out his first four times at bat, then hit a home run.
-Lem Barney of the Detroit Lions intercepted the first pass Bart Starr threw his way, did a somersault, got his balance, and ran the ball in for a touchdown.

So…what did you do on your first day of work?

Wrote an error free report, then came up with an idea to save the big money account from leaving. I got MVP for the month of may for that one.
