David is going to be on NFL Total Access tonight at 6:00 central time. One of the things they said they'll talk to him about is all the talk about the Texans possibly taking Vince Young. For all of you who can't catch the 6:00 show, it will replay at 9:00 central time.

Looks like Mario will be on Total Access on Friday. Happen to be looking through the schedule and spotted it. Looks like people are beginning to take notice.

How much would it be for me to get a dvd with all the Texans games on it lets say from the '05 season or after this year is over for this year? I'd be interested as I only get to see maybe 2 games a year up here in Illinois (primetime games + sometimes the Colts/last year was better as we got to play Chicago and Green Bay). I'd also like to see the videos on the website but my computer is on dial-up and at school the computers only have windows media player :(
 
Will they ever put The NFL Channel on Cable and not Direct TV?

I mean I will pay for it like ESPN HD and all the other extra channels..........
 
Be careful what you ask for, the NFL Network is addicting, once you sit down and start watching you can't turn it off. It's definitely a real football fan's dream come true. Total Access is good but my favorite is Six Days to Sunday.

Hey there GK - I would love to get some or all the games on DVD - Ive got a whole reel of Blank DVD's and have been trying to find one of you burner guys to help out with gettign some Texan games on disc.

Honestly I dunno why the Pro sports leagues in general dont sell Games on disc or a season. It would be a great source of income to all the teams from a secondary money stream and could be sold all seasons for all sports. Football, Basketball, baseball, soccer... etc... Never have understood the whole no rebroadcastign thing and then they dont sell the games on disc for you to watch either :confused: I mean honestly they sell darn near everythign else from concerts to PPV events on disc - why not pro sports games? I mean honestly how many of you out there would love to get an old game on disc or how about a championship game or series?

The closest ive seen is those crappy highlight reel jobs SI does for -Some- teams if they win a championship. OF course I still wont buy anything SI to this day 10+ years later after the whole - Rockets championship snub job- That still irks me to this very day.

I have only had NFL Network (after the regular season) since the beginning of the year but fell in love with it instantly. Saw footage of the combine, all the draft updates, and free agency news. Any news worthy topic about the NFL is covered. What I like most is that it doesn't cater to just the most popular teams and players, everyone gets some exposure.

I've got it on dish network, channel 154. It is just sweet and addicitive like everyone has mentioned. 6 days to sunday - awesome. the best though for me is the game of the week...shows a majority of the plays in about an hour of selected games. The interviews are nice too.

The DirecTV agreement is for the NFL ticket only I believe. That is handy if you don't like the Cowboys and want to watch something else...or with a dvr you can record other games and watch it in about 20 minutes skipping commercials......what was this thread about again?

ok it's called pansat look it up on google you pay for a box like cable or directv and you need a dish (which you can get) a one time payment of whatever you choose on site and they send you stuff. you install it and tghere you go. we have been doing it for years. it usually last like a year then you need a new one. but its like 300 tops for it and thats way cheaper than a year of directv and nfl ticket so you choose
 
Carr very confident in his new oline likes the depth. also likes the williams pick, says will hopefully create some turnovers, all around just confident of the upcoming season. likes the depth at rb and the new mould addition
 
That was about as relaxed and confident I have ever seen Carr. He seems real pleased with how things are going. Joking around with Rich Eisen and that is something he didn't do before.
 
yah Carr seemed real happy with the new situation. he seems confident, and is kinda putting all those 208 sacks behind him, and he was pokin fun at how many times hes been sacked.

Um. This is not legal. Sorry to tell you this. The dealers will tell you it is legal but if you look at most of their websites it says all sorts of disclaimer stuff saying you shouldn't be doing naughty stuff with their products, blah blah, cya.

If you get DirecTV programming and do not pay for it, you are running a huge risk of being sued. Lawsuits are unfun.

If you buy something that appears to be designed to hack DirecTV programming, even if it doesn't work, DirecTV may sue you for posessing such devices.

The following is my understanding: DirecTV is aggressively going after what they term "End-User Pirates." They go after dealers and seize all their records. They often take over dealer websites and entrap people who purchase illegal devices. They monitor Ebay sales as well.

Without much more investigation than that, they send demand letters saying that they will sue unless you pay them four figure money. If you blow off their demand letter, they will sue you for six-figure money. It is hard to find competent lawyers to handle these cases because it usually costs more to defend the case with a good lawyer than what DirecTV demands.

So in the short term you might be saving some bucks, but DirecTV is not kidding around in going after people. Personally, I find some of their tactics in going after people deplorable because they do little investigation beyond sales records and have sued the wrong people--people who have had to hire lawyers to get the cases to go away.

(I know about this stuff because I had a friend who got in trouble for buying a device that never worked. So much for free pr0n and football.)

One thing about the interview, Carr didn't seem to be too enthused about DD. You can tell he wishes Bush would have come here. I guess he doesn't believe that DD can stay healthy and I can definitely understand why.

Actually it was in the context of the draft and he said "As an offensive guy, naturally I would have liked to improved my side of the ball, but from a club standpoint, it's was better to improve the defensive side". Just liked having more firepower to play with, but understands the pick, didn't see it as a dig on DD at all.

I think he looked good and he took that Young question like a champ! I don't think you could have answered it any better then that ( without going on the offensive ).

The thing I liked the best out of the interview is that it confirmed Kubiak understands that the "sack" leak is a bigger problem then just a one play at a time getting sacked kinda thing. That reputation of being easy can add some extra fire to guys because they simply "believe" that they will get a sack. You need to stamp that piola out.

I am not so sure Capers really understood that aspect of it all that well.

Besides that I get tired of meeting people and then having them ask me what's your team followed by how many sacks do I think we'll get this year ( with a snicker ).

More important than just identifying the sack problem, Carr did identify that he was confident that Kubiak would be able to help through schemes as well as getting theball out of his hand faster. There seems to be an understanding in Carr's mind that he held the ball that should have been thrown (i.e. hesitant to throw or not throwing it away).

Being able to acknowledge that makes me believe that it has been a subject discussed since Carr has "moved into his [Kubiak's] office".
 
When listening to the tape of Total Access with Carr I found it real interesting that he was kept informed of what was going to happen in general with each round of the draft before it occurred. He indicated that Kubiak was giving him calls. Sounds like Kubiak wanted to make certain that Carr indeed felt he was an important cogg in the organization. It didn't seem like he was being told who, but whether it was going to be offese or defense. Its fun to listen closely to these interviews and see what you can garner in an unexpected way.

I Don't think Cox has NFL Network in Texas. I have argued with our local Cox company ever since NFL Network went live... Very frustrating!
 
Grande cable in Corpus Christi has NFL Network. They suck as a cable company overall though so I'm stuck with Time Warner for now and no NFL Network.

Sometimes it's not about what you say but what you don't say. I have heard other guys say things like "We already have a good back in DD". What Carr said is "DD is productive when he is healthy". I may be wrong but I take it to imply that he wishes Bush was here because you can't depend on DD to stay healthy all season. That's simply my :twocents: .

Hey, I agree with Ibar...must be a new era with the new Kubiak karma. Carr came across as confident and mature...even funny.

Vinny, I think Kubiak is going to be one heck of a coach. Every time I listen to him I just get mezmorized. When Carr says the 1st thing Kubiak tells him is you are not going to get sacked that much any more it must have been a great releaf to Carr. If you watch the intensity of Kubiak you realize he is taking everything in, but his reactions are those of person contemplating what he's going to do. He has many of the mannerisms of Landry if you watch closely. That quiet cool calm collected look and never rushed.

I think Carr is also realizing he now has a receiver core that could be one of the best in the NFL. No one should under estimate the potential of AJ and Moulds without regard to the other young receivers. Add to that the new TE's and we are flat out scary I honestly believe. We have the potential of being one of the best in the NFL this year and the local papers are totally ignoring us. They have a potentially big story and can't see the tree for the forest.

I have commented from what I see I believe Carr has also changed his delivery. Look at the tapes you have and compare to what you see on the Web site. It appears to be a very much more compact release with little wasted effort. I could be wrong, but that's my first impression. He looks like he's releasing quicker in addition and coming more over the top.

Finally everyone seems to be for everyone else. The TEXANS and its players are now a TEAM. Kubiak has got them thinking that way and that's going to pay huge dividends. When the coaching staff takes someone like WAND who was totally demoralized and takes him under their wing, I am willing to bet it doesn't go unrecognized by the rest of the players. That tells the players if you have talent and are willing to work, we will do everything we can to make you successful. That is what is termed an excellent work enviornment.

I keep saying just sit back and relax and enjoy the ride, because its going to be a long one.
