Cardinals release L.J. Shelton

Dont wanna start another one of those hey he's available lets get him, but i think we should at least show interest or try. I like him and think he could really help us.

My question is, weren't the Bills going to give the Cards Travis Henry for L.J. Shelton and the Cards refused and NOW they release him...doesn't make sense to me, but like 84 said, things have been interesting so far this offseason... :highfive:

These type of let's go get ____ make sense....It is the Eddie George/Jerry Rice let's go get that drives everyone insane. shelton is probably on par with Riley, maybe a little better, but has more experience at LT (if I remember correctly). He is a player that a team with needs on the OL should at minimum explore the option with some seriousness.

former 1st rounder and the best thing is that he is a LT, so this is exactly what we need. He was making 3 million a year, but that is not bad considering he was a natural LT even in college. Lets go get him!

Okay, if we get him then does this make up for not signing Boulware or Franks because I know we can't have all 3 and I know we can barely have two.

Don't know about Shelton, but if the Cardinals want to dole out their Center...
a swap for Alex Stepanovich would be nice.

Darren Urban, reports for the East Valley Tribune, the Arizona Cardinals will absorb a $3.3 million cap hit in 2005 because of their earlier release of OT L.J. Shelton. The cap hit comes from the pro-rated part left of his signing bonus from a 2003 extension.
