Can he say "I am stepping down during the press conference".

Someone steal his notepad and write in it....Running from this team is the best offense you can have. Run Capers Run

Someone does need to steal his notebook, and write in it:

"I know what you did last summer".

Nothing, not a dadgum thing to improve the team!

that should be addressed to casserly as well...

What questions I could hear on 610 were mainly big, fat soft balls. They needed Bob Allen there - if you saw him on 13 last night post game talking to Cass, hey he was in Casserly's grill and asked him point blank about the PB
trade and his play/lack of play on the 5 with the Pitt RB (ya know, the touch ball play). Yea boy, Cass didn't look so cool last night, he was squirmin.

Capers:

"I'm not going to come out and say that Chris and I were 'not in sync' but this was a decision that I've been thinking about for quite awhile" . . to words of that effect.

"For the second week in a row Chad Stanley punted the ball well".

He did not say that!...did he?! :tv:

Man, my buddies and I left the stadium yesterday saying that the only positive thing we can take from the game is our punting team!!

GO TEXANS SMILIE!! :texflag:

Even though I think Pendry is going to be the "yes man", he said he's the type to yell and scream. I hope Capers will let him do just that, because I think Carr is too nice to say certain things, and If Carr isn't willing to get angry enough at the offense, then I'm glad someone else is willing to do it.

Do you honestly think that David doesn't get mad? He was one of the few that WAS playing with fire yesterday. Sometimes I wonder if people ever even watch the game.

I dont think CArr getting angry wit hthe offense is the solution. He needs fire, but he needs to harness that anger and burn his opponents with the next play. What I heard from the "Blitzburgh' game blurbs by players afterwards the ysaid Carr had plenty to say all day to the O-line and other players not to mention got angry more than a few times. Frustrated is about how I would some up Carr's feelings based on what Ive read and heard. I think what David needs is consistency from his coaches. If they can get decent blocking - not pro-bowl level, but decent blocking up front often enough he usually develops a rhythm and will get comfortable. I cant blame the guy for running for his life after the way the Staff have basically mismanaged his career thus far and provided him with little chance to succeed and very little time to make decisions on game day due to their lack of protection going on 4 years now. As I said in the off-season at some point David is going to loose his cool with the staff and folks for their inability to do their jobs and seeming lack of interest in fixing it. IMO think David is starting to look out for himself more now because the Staff just dont seem to care when they throw him out there and then blame him for not getting results when they barely give him time to get the freaking ball in his hands before a guy is in his face. Honestly they are putting his career in jeapordy every game and I think David is starting to notice that maybe he needs to protect himself since the Staff seems reluctant to try.

As I said in the off-season the teams going to struggle alot more this year because of all the issues they never addressed and getting rid of the veteran leaders in the defense. Even after being called out by Ownership [O-line] they still ignored the issues. IMO IF this coaching staff isnt smart enough to figure out that when the man paying your check tells you to do something about protecting the franchise QB - and your answer is pointing the finger down the line at the next guy after making your excuses for not doing it over the first 6 games. Suffice to say - I wouldnt be expecting an invite to the Company Christmas party this year. :ok:

McNair is running a business as I said in the Off-season and 'This staff" has had 5 years to get it together - Weve all seen the results on the field. Football is a PR business too - And After the way Last year ended this staff has done "NOTHING" to wash that taste out of the fans and ownerships mouths. I'm honestly surprised that Bob has waited so long to be vocal about his biz and the bad decisions on the field and in the coaches box.

Was Palmer set up by holding Mathis out..... Interesting thought because he is one player that might have really helped special teams as well as the offense. Will Mathis make a difference when he plays. The judge and jury is out on that one, but he certainly looks like he has some potential...........

I'm not sure "set up" would be the right phrase. Maybe Palmer was a victim of circumstance. Facing the top 2 Ds in the first 2 games with a bye week following was just begging for his name to be on the transactions page. I hope Mathis is great but doubt he'd have saved Palmer's job.

Listening to Bob Allen on 13 talking with Capers and the new OC Pendry,
Capers and Pendry between have absolutely no logical explanation of any
kind on how this coaching change will offer any improvement or even anything at all that is tangibly different than what it was prior to the firing.
The guy was strictly a scapegoat, the real firings come this winter assuming
there isn't a dramatic turnaround.

Yeah Ibar, another 8 yds on field position would have saved Palmer's job after those two games. Sheesh, anything to insert your pet rant into every discussion.

Pendry is a dinosaur. This band aid on a gushing wound action was taken in order to buy time under the guise of being proactive.

Realistically, there is no one internal who could assume the head coaching duty now that the season has started so it's about all they could do at this point.

:tomato: Mr. Casserly ,

I take your comments about the Texan scouts being better than I as slander and you'll be hearing from my lawyer in the near future .

Sincerely

I'm sorry you feel that way, because the point is that Palmer worked up a whole new offensive scheme - or revamped the old one - but we really never saw it after the 1st couple of preseason games. Did Capers stop Palmer from using the revamped scheme? I think you really have to scratch your head on this one. Mathis may be the number 2 receiver we have been looking for to help AJ. Mathis is not only a return man. He is limited, but he does possess some outstanding skills and tonights game between Dallas and Washington is an excellent example of a defense playing a nearly perfect game for 58 minutes only to have their hopes dashed by two big passing plays. Glenn and Roy Williams were burned twice. Gibbs knew enough to throw with minutes to go on 4th down. Our coach doesn't understand that. It took guts, but look at what happened. That is the nature of the forward pass and a very fast receiver who can outrun the defense. Many felt that that was Palmer's game but we never saw it. Did Capers in fact set up Palmer to be the fall guy to take pressure off him. Again Capers would not let Pendry interview with other teams. Certainly seems like he had plans for him that we didn't know about.

The point is that all of the coaches need to go otherwise we will just be doing what we have been doing all along. You may feel differently, but what's strange is that I have basically been very right in stating that we were in a down hill spiral. But quite frankly its not the players that are the problem. It unfortunately appears we may have a very inept coaching staff. I've also stated we are going to have to start all over again and the 5 year plan is out the window and I think that is true. Could we fix things for next year? May be if we get rid of all of the exsisting coaching staff now. Otherwise, forget it and plan on another 3 to 4 years. I really wish this was not the case.

Yes, I like David Carr, but I don't know whether David will every make it as a top flight QB. A number of very valueable formative years have been lost. Those years can never be regained and he has taken a beating. I don't believe he really has ever been given a real chance to succeed. Did you see what the Dallas O-line did for Bledsole. He was hardly touched and he could get the pass off, but when he was hurried he looked like Carr. I think the same can be said for AJ, too. He is a product of very inept coaching. Again, a very talented young man with lots of raw talent. But it has never been refined. For him to be commenting is totally out of character. He is less of a yes man than Carr. To even hear any comments from David is surprising. I will go out on a limb and say I don't think David and Pendry are going to get along and you are going to see the same thing you have seen before. I hope I'm wrong, because that would be unfair to the TEAM and the FANS.

I just hope that Pendry has the sense to call more max protect for Carr. Maybe after Carr gets some decent time in the pocket and completes a few passes our offense will start clicking.
