Caper's Press Conference: Same Old Same Old

Lack of execution = Playing like ****

Just call it like it is Dom. Eventually you're going to have to blame yourself, because we haven't seen ANY consistent execution this season.

Here is my in depth analysis of his report:

1.
Your errors are always magnified versus a good football team, and that was the case last night. You’re in a loud, disruptive stadium and environment. Seattle runs real fast-paced, they substitute every down and put a lot of pressure on you in terms of your substitutions and that doesn’t give your people a lot of time to think about things.
In my opinion, this is not an excuse for that game. Seattle plays plenty of teams at home and the result is not this. We didn't make "mistakes," rather we made consistently poor plays. He makes it sound like we turned the ball over 5 times.

2.
"Early in the game we lost Zach Wiegert seven or eight plays in. Consequently, we had to make three moves. . . . .He’s our signal-caller and when you’re going against an offense like Seattle and you lose your signal-caller that early in the game, it makes it that much more important that you have great communication.
This whole quote screams, "The two injuries are why we lost the game. Another excuse

3.
That becomes a matter of you say ‘well you have a new group of offensive linemen working in there
This is totally unacceptable. Listen to Mike Tice (who is the worst coach in the NFL) and he even made the statement today that penalties, except for offsides, are the coaches problem. Please take credit where its due, coach

4.
There’s no question we have to do a better job in terms of our tackling and base-fundamentals on defense
You're right about that.

5.
Overall what we have to do is become a more efficient and disciplined football team.
How about passionate? Fiered up? Excited?

6.
We’re five games into the season and we aren’t happy with where we are but we’ve got over two thirds of the season left
This is true

7.
Our injury situation, Kailee Wong, I can’t give you the exact diagnosis, but I can tell you that he’s gone for the year. They’re evaluating his knee right now. I think he’s got a tear in the patella tendon in the knee. There might be more to come, I don’t know, but we’ll lose Kailee for the year which will be a big loss. Zach Wiegert will not practice on Wednesday. He has an ankle sprain. He’s getting and MRI this afternoon. Gary Walker will continue to be out this week. Jason Simmons is having an MRI on his knee. Andre Johnson will not practice on Wednesday again with his calf. And we’ll probably hold C.C. Brown out of practice on Wednesday with his knee. We’ll have four or five people that will practice on a limited basis. Jason Babin will do some things again on a limited basis. Each week, we try to work him back in more. So we’ll have to see where he is. Other than that it’s just normal bumps and bruises.
This is very discouraging to say the least

Anyway, he continues on to answer questions. My take is that this coach is very good at finding positives in terribly negative situations. I don't know what he could possibly be saying that he hasn't already said. The fact of the matter is, the team doesnt really believe in him anymore. He has tried his best, and it seems, has failed. I feel bad saying this, but we really do need a change

How can anyone listen to his post game interviews? I just cannot take it anymore. The games are a joke the way it is, but his speeches after the games are beyond tolerable.
He will explain something .. and then give a little laugh at the end. Glad he finds it funny!
Is this how coaching sessions go during the week?

Does this sound like the beginning of the Injury Card that Dom might want to play? Will Mcnair buy into it? Why wasn't he fired today?

I really tought when i woke up i was gonna wake up to some good news like capers Fired or resigned the man should at least have the dignity to quit like the players have done on him. im ready for a no nonsense coach that will make Every Player earn there SPOT in this team :texflag:

Good observation. He made several comments in the offseason about how injuries could affect their season.

The injury card (loser's limp) will be used by the players also.

This quote really caught my eye. Im glad he thought of something unique to say....uh...maybe not.

"Last night we really didn’t give ourselves a chance because of the inconsistency of our execution"

Capers must think there are a lot of 'dumb/stupid' fans in the Texans 'backyard.' We've been given the same excuses for losing for over 3 years now-are not buying into it anymore-so now we get the same excuses 'up graded!!'

Talk about not "getting it!" Execution/concentration/and all the other excuses we've heard from one person should be fixable by that same person--i.e., how many people out there can stand up every week and give the same reasons the job did not get done that they were in charge of and still have that same job after 4 yrs and---BEST of ALL, make millions not doing it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Capers may have some people out there fooled but is not the fans... :soapbox:
