BSU/Kyle Wilsons Pro Day

Former Boise State cornerback Kyle Wilson unofficially ran the 40-yard dash in 4.47 and 4.45 seconds Friday at the Broncos’ pro day.

That’s a little slower than Wilson expected, but considering he was returning from a hamstring injury they are solid times. He also posted a 38-inch vertical jump, a personal best.

The scouts do their own timing, so there is some variety in the numbers. Wilson's brother, Gerry, posted on Twitter that he was told the 40 times were 4.43 and 4.45 seconds with one clocking as low as 4.39 seconds.

“I was happy how everything went,” Wilson said. “… I know I’m as fast as they come, so hey, I’ll trust my speed vs. anybody.”

Wilson said the hamstring injury that prevented him from running and jumping at the NFL Scouting Combine was not an issue Friday.

“I don’t have any excuses,” he said. “I trained hard, I was ready to go and I came out here and did my best.”

The usual collection of NFL scouts was augmented by at least a handful of NFL defensive coordinators.

I’ll have more throughout the day, hopefully including more times from the tests.

Sub 4.5 is respectable I guess even for a first-round corner ? We didn't want him to be too fast or we'd never see him on the Board at 20.
We can do a lot worse than taking this guy in the first round.

4.47 and 4.45 put Wilson in the top 3 or 4 CB in the 40 at the Combine. Not bad, but may not be good for us!

As compared to whom ? Poor forties form these guys. I really don't see a lot of difference form the first round guys and the third round guys. I think it's a very long shot for one of them to come in and displace someone for a starters role out of camp. And I believe our cap dollars are better served at another position in the first round. Don't tell me the horse is blind let's load up the wagons and go. We got DBs on the roster. Someone is going to have to grow up. they may do it, draft one in the first, a lot of folks calling for it. .But if you're expecting Deon Sanders, or Robinson for that matter there's gong to be a lot of long faces in here come September.

I hate hearing about hamstring injuries, they are very tricky and persistent.

Anyone know if it is a recurring thing with Wilson?
