Breakout NFL prospect LT Ryan Ramczyk

Texian

Hall of Fame
The same program that helped turn transfers J.J. Watt and Russell Wilson into future superstars appears to have another breakout NFL prospect in left tackle Ryan Ramczyk, a former Division-III player whose stellar blocking Saturday helped No. 11 Wisconsin blow out No. 8 Michigan State 30-6 in front of a stunned crowd in East Lansing.

And while the entire Wisconsin program played well Saturday (including Watt's younger brother, T.J.), from an NFL scout's perspective, Ramczyk's success was arguably the biggest takeaway.

Ramcyzk has made scouts take notice in a hurry. USATSI

Wisconsin churning out NFL-caliber offensive linemen is, of course, nothing new, but little about the 6-foot-6, 314-pound Ramcyzk (pronounced Ram-check) follows the normal script.

(this might be your left tackle badboy)

Gesney the Aggies LT looked pretty good tonight. Cant wait to see him matched up against Williams and Alabama/Key and LSU.

Thanks Texian, I picked up on him against Mich St and he wowed against LSU but this is first season at Wisconsin as he sat out due to transfer last year. I think left tackle position has gotten better quickly than I had thought it would. BTW, I have focused on Notre Dame's McGlinchey and despite Notre Dame losing he has gotten better.

He's played well against LSU and Mich St. definitely a guy to keep an eye on.
Despite knowing our tackles need new blood, I am not mocking one until third round but that depends on who ends up at our pick in first round. As of now I am mocking Arkansas Dan Skipper in third but he will probably climb.

Was glad to see him back and agree he will be tested giving us more info.

Today at 2:30PM is the best chance to see Ryan Ramcyzk in what could be one of his biggest challenges/competition of the year (Michigan).

Michigan has 4 guys on the DL who could get drafted this year. Ramcyzk will face two of them (Chris Wormley & Taco Charlton) quite a bit today.

Ramcyzk seems o be doing a good job. He hasn't been getting beat. Not alot of push in the run game. Of course as WF said the Wolverines have what is probably the best DL in the country.

Ramcuzk has all of the tools you look for. Big long armed with great feet. Good power.

Charlton beat Ramcyzk on some spin moves today but for the most part he was solid in pass pro. Their C and RT got demolished by Michigan's front four.

I noticed that Ramcyzk was susceptible to getting beat on the inside spin move. He doesn't move or slide as well to his right

I noticed that, but the DE, mainly Taco Charlton seemed to beat him inside but Ramczyk was able to block Charlton long enough for the QB to get the pass off.

Luckily these are the type of things that can be fixed by a great OL coach and a reason that he could fall to the Texans late in the 1st rd. I would start him off at RT. (Of course my dislike of Newton is probably contributing to that.)

My thoughts on RT, if he's having trouble blocking to his right side, playing RT would be worse?

This is where Devlin would come into play.

But on the surface you are correct. I gont know what I was thinking. Typical Monday.

CBS Sports recently added Ramczyk to their list of 2017 NFL prospects. He's listed as a 1st round prospect, #2 among OT's, and #30 overall. Hopefully he's on the board when we make our 1st round pick.

unfortunately I am not seeing what I want in Ram; as of now I hope he gets drafted above us to push another player down. Also for grins will start working on a best player mock regardless of position just to see what turns up

Ramczyk and Watt are dominating today.

I don't think Ramczyk will be there when the Texans pick. Watt should be and as bad as the Texans need OL talent, I ouldn't have a problem with picking Watt in Rd. 1 and an OT like Moton (Who is also looking good today) or Wheeler in Rd.2

Watt looks like a young Cushing to me.
