First (pick 19 current grade 59): Carson Wentz, QB, North Dakota State, Sr. 6-5 231
Size, core-strength, mobility, arm strength, accuracy, character, leadership, work ethic to develop into Texans Franchise QB. I would compare him favorably to Joe Flacco coming out of Delaware in 08 oddly selected by Ravens 18th overall acquired in a trade with the Texans, except that he has better mobility & quicker feet in the pocket. I feel, even if he's not starting right away, it will be obvious to those on the team he will be the franchise QB when O'Brian feels he is ready.
Second (pick 50 current grade 61): Pharoh Cooper, South Carolina, Jr. (declared) 5-11 208
#2 WR to compliment Hopkins, causing defensive coordinator nightmares. Announced he will not return for his Senior season, that he plans to enter the 2016 NFL draft pool. Gives Texans deep threat as well a weapon in the slot. Creates separation with excellent cuts in & out of breaks. Leads Gamecocks through 11 games with 62 receptions 887 yards & 7 TD's. Also led team Sophomore season with 69 receptions, 1,136 yards & 9 TD's. He has a bright future ahead in the NFL making a dynamic dual @ WR with Hopkins.
Third (pick 81 current grade 90): Joe Haeg, OT, North Dakota State, SR. 6-5 300
Late bloomer who has worked his butt off, like JJ Watt to become a complete football player. Surprising athletic with large frame that can/will add more weight to improve core strength to bounce around line as needed. For now he would be Texans key swing tackle, capable of filling in for Brown or Newton eventually to become franchise LT for Wentz as he was in College.
Fourth (pick 115 current grade 134): Aaron Green, RB, TCU, rSr. 5-11 205
Not related to Ahman, however his uncle, Gary Green, played in the NFL 9 seasons as a cornerback and was selected to four Pro Bowls. 1167 yards so far this season (halftime of Baylor game) 10 TD's. 2014 had 1222 yards 9 TD's. Turning point for me was his effort against Oklahoma without passing attack against that NFL like DL rushing for 126 yards on 23 carries & one TD. Solid back who would become Texans starter in case Foster can't go.
Fifth (pick 155 current grade 161): Tyler Higbee, TE, Western Kentucky, rSR. 6-5 250
Length of a TE with hands of a receiver (converted). Jack Doyle was drafted out of Western Kentucky same year as Ryan Griffin. Higbee is somewhere between them & Devin Funchess. Not a strong TE class, but he leads them all with 37 receptions, 555 yards 15.0 yards per catch & 8 TD's. This late he is still good value for a weak class & help Texans improve results @ TE position.
Fifth (pick 168 currently graded 191): Leon Allen, RB Western Kentucky, Sr. 6-0 235
Suffered early season knee injury & ruled out for season. Last season he led Conference USA and ranked seventh nationally with 2,018 yards from scrimmage. Setting both C-USA and WKU single-game rushing records vs. Army, rushing for 345 yards, at the time ranking as the 16th highest single-game rushing output in FBS history. He's strong, very versatile, he can catch it out of the backfield & has great vision with natural football instincts. Better prospect than Antonio Andrews of the Titans, available only because of injury he sustained cutting short his senior season.
Current draft slot based on #19th overall going into Saints game this weekend. Also added estimated draft slot each round against current prospect rankings according to NFL draft scout for your viewing pleasure. Would hope Texans are aggressive in free agency & address defensive positions like safety, LB & DT.
