Bengal/Buckeye Guy Weighs In

I’ll be 71 years old on 10/3. Born and raised in Dayton, Ohio, just up the road from Cincinnati about 50 miles.

I’m so old I was a month shy of being 15 when the Bengals started their expansion year in 1968!

My dad and I actually converted from Browns fans because dad really liked Paul Brown and we thought the Browns did him dirty!😡

I’ve been in SW Florida since 1981, but remain a Bengals, Reds, and Buckeyes fan . . . HOWEVER, starting this season I am now ALSO a Texans fan for 2 main reasons!

First is Stroud! I am also a Christ Follower and love his passion for Him AND his athletic skills and the team player he is!

Secondly, I have been a Mixon fan since the Bengals drafted him and think their trading him was a HUGE mistake!

That left the Bengals with a very anemic ground game!🙄

So, I’m now watching, following, and rooting for the Texans BIG TIME!!

Not sure Mixon will play against the Vikings, but hoping for the next man up attitude so they can beat the Vikings and stay undefeated!!

GO TEXANS!!

Good to have you and welcome aboard! The Bengals seem to be doing okay this season.

Welcome! You have me beat by a full decade, but this board has lots of middle age and senior folks on it. Don’t be a stranger. We love new Texans fans. Plenty of room on the bandwagon!

Ps - Mixon is highly unlikely to play tomorrow. I might even hold him out of next weeks game as a precaution (Jax) to get him healthy for a tougher opponent in Buffalo. Especially if Akers shows up tomorrow like I think he will.

Welcome, we're very excited as Texans fans and feel blessed to have Stroud as our QB. Good times are ahead for the Texans franchise, I'm glad you've found a ride along the Texans train.

Great story! Thanks for sharing. I grew up in Louisiana and moved to Texas in 2001. I've been a Texans fan since day one of the franchise. I still follow the Saints, but the Texans are my team. I don't live in Texas anymore but I love the Texans.

I adopted the Saints after the Oilers left. I started following & rooting for them when Mike Ditka sold his soul for Ricky Williams. I was actually more of a Ricky Williams fan than Saints fan at that point. Then came Haslette, Aaron Brooks, Joe Horn & that whole thing. Texans got their teaming 2002. I watched out the corner of my eye. I liked that they hired Dom Capers, didn't like that they drafted a QB from Fresno State #1 overall, didn't like how they struggled to run the football, liked they had a respectable defense, loved their fan following.

When they fired Capers, hired Kubiak I got on board. I bought season tickets, jerseys, hats, joined the MB.... been here ever since.
