ATTENTION: Bush and Young enthusiasts

Since last night's National Championship Game there has been an onslaught of Vince Young or Reggie Bush threads not to mention the staggering amount of Reggie Bush is better than Vince Young threads and vice-versa.

This is certainly a topic worthy of discussion but in order to maintain continuity on the message boards, the moderators respectfully request that each poster review the threads already started on the subject and add to that thread rather than beginning a brand new thread that dicusses the exact same topics.

Many threads have already been merged together in an effort to control the situation but new Young vs. Bush threads pop up just as fast as two other Young vs. Bush threads have been merged.

The Bush-Young or trade the first pick debate will continue for some time I would imagine. Let's just try not to create 10 threads where 1 will serve the purpose equally well.

gwallaia is just telling the newbies to respect and appreciate the core community by learning and engaging in some basic community standards. In case the new guys missed the readme follow the path below.

As far as the draft talk, if it centers on the team we will keep it here (now that we are in off-season mode)...once it becomes a list of prospects and "draft talk" we move it to the draft forum. Not everyone who wants to browse on the current team banter wants to weed through rampant draftspeak, so we try to keep the Bullpen centered less on the draft. There are a billion draft threads in the draft forum. If you have a draft question and are not sure where to post it please post it in the draft forum. Everyone who has an interest in the draft browse that forum also.

I have been as guilty as the next person for getting off-topic with regard to this whole Vince/Reggie debate. I must say that some of these threads are just a nightmare to navigate now. It is important to keep your posts relevant to the original topic of the thread. Not that I like Colin Cowherd, but his "STAY ON TOPIC" mantra is appropriate at this time!

Kudos to the mods doing what they can to keep the board under control! You all are doing a great job.

Regardless of who gets drafted #1 overall, don't get emotional about the pick. I personally don't care who they pick, as long as the team wins. If we have a good draft, pick up good/great FA's, we can win 6-8 games next season, I would be more than happy and content. As long as we beat the Titans, hate Bud Adams.

Bush is a good runner But, just a runner. Vince is a QB, RB, WR, TE...etc. The best option is to get Young. Period. He's a better option and after a year or two in the league he'll be great. We'll worry about what to do with him then.

David Carr is not the problem around here. He keeps his Job! Period! The O-Line is the problem..The defenses penetrates too soon. Carr can't do 5 step drops he has to release the ball after a 3 step drop...and our WR's have to make step moves faster to get distance on defenders... This has to happen. Our RB situation is in need of help too. DD is good but not awesome... He needs to get his head into the game and make better decisions. He has got to know what happens to Carr when the Pass Rush is on so DD turn around and help, hell, BLOCK one guy and buy some time!!!! Anyway...

Vince falls behind Rangone as 3rd QB (the competition will make better players out of all of them!!)

Vince becomes like Randle El is in Pitt. He can run options, HB passes and can line up as a RB,WR,TE to confuse the defenses whenever we need him. He is hands down the best draft option for the Texans!!

So, with that said I will conclude this diatribe as follows. Bush is NOT a TEXAN and Will NEVER Be a Texan...

Vince is a LONGHORN which means he IS a TEXAN!! And there is something to be said about loyalty, the Texas way... Remember someone named Earl Cambell? Loyalty...

Only one problem dude, VY does not want to be a RB, WR, or TE. He wants to be an NFL QB. We don't need VY. The fans want to win now not 2-3 yrs from now. Bush is the man. Oh another thing, you can not compare E. Campbell to VY. Campbell was the biggest, baddest power back in NFL history. VY is a big project at best. Why do you think his stock has dropped so much since the Rose Bowl. Open your eyes and see the light!! Nuff Said!!:brickwall

Your exactly right. Our team is not going to be good or bad based on our first pick. Whoever we draft with that pick we get a great player and most likely starter for our team.
