Vick Hurt Again? The city of Atlanta held its breath as Vick pulled up lame after a TD run. When one guy is your entire team then the preseason must be an awfully trying experience.

Thursday, August 5, 2004

Associated Press
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick tweaked his right hamstring and pulled up limping after running into the end zone during a drill Thursday in a practice against the Tennessee Titans.

Vick made a sharp cut off his left leg and faked out Titans cornerback Samari Rolle on his way into the end zone. He grimaced and clutched his right leg as he started limping toward the huddle.

That was the same leg in which he broke his fibula last preseason, keeping him out of 11 regular-season games. He lay on the ground, and trainers immediately worked to stretch his hamstring muscle.

Vick said he was OK.

"It don't hurt. I'm fine," Vick said.

The Falcons are scheduled for two practices with the Titans on Friday, with a scrimmage Saturday. Vick said he doesn't expect to miss any work.

"It shouldn't be a problem," Vick said.

Atlanta coach Jim Mora said he didn't run to check on Vick and that he isn't going to baby his No. 1 quarterback.

"He's like everyone else out here. He's going to get nicked up a little bit. He's going to have some pains and some pulls and he's going to get through them," Mora said.

"Every time something happens to the guy, we're not going to rush over to him and go, 'Oh!' That's not football. He's OK. He's fine."

Did Mora by any chance follow the Vick-less Falcons last year???
