Armstrong inactive today

TE Murphy was active instead. Great Murphy was playing, but IMO there are a BUNCH of others that could have been inactive rather than Armstrong even if it left us a bit thin at a position. He is probably our best possesion reciever.

Might aswell place Gaffney in the pup list. He cant get open 1-1 god help us all.

2 catches in the last three games. It looked like Carr was making reads today, when he had time. Somebody put an APB out for a 6'1" WR who fumbles the ball on the 1 yard line with nobody around him.

Gaff does not deserve #2 spot. What a let down.
Historically Carr only throws to his first option or his last. Anyone in the middle gets lost. This has gone on for 3 years now.

Too harsh Vin, you got to give Carr more slack. You can hammer Carr all you want next season.

:heh: :heh:

He is not very confident right now. He has been hit this season and has been hit hard. He does not trust his line at all.

All of that is right, but Vinny's right about Carr also....at least so far.

Did anyone hear an explaination for this? It's not like they would have gotten him the ball anyway, but it would be nice to know.

Capers said on his radio show on 610 that Armstrong was de-activated because they needed Matt Murphy in their gameplan for the Colts.

Good plan. You can never have too many tight ends in the game to miss blocks and run a few pass routes for no reason at all. Genius.

That's funny stuff.

Yeah, Capers said that they needed an extra TE in the game and that there were not going to be any 4 WR sets against Indy.

Hey genius....if Capers says they aren't using 4 wide reciever sets then why would 4 recievers be activated. Murphy destroyed Freeny on that one play. Coaching staff is actually using Murph to their advantage he's a blocking/receiving tight end, when Billy and Murphy are in they don't know who will be blocking and who is receiving unlike when Billy and Bruener are in. Every other team in the NFL is using their TE's the Texans need to start using theirs too.

I think Murphy logged 3 plays. Great use of the 3 TE sets. Why keep Starling active and make Armstrong inactive.

The other teams that use these sets WIN more games than they lose. Maybe there's something else to their gameplan that helps a team win. This offense is pure vanilla. Capers went into the game with the hope that they would keep it close and win the time of possession with more rushing yards. If you don't score points you don't win games. The Texans should have their best players active.
