Bad news for Arkansas fans, but good news for their opponents. Also, this may hurt his draft stock in the future, whether he goes to the NFL in 2012 or 2013 if he gets a medical exemption from the NCAA. Walterfootball had him projected as a 2nd round pick in 2012.

I know its football. I know its a part of the game. And I know that Knile Davis is not the first or the last promising college player to suffer a significant injury before being able to truly showcase his talents, but that doesnt make it any easier for Hogs fans or college football fans in general.
The Arkansas running back is out for the 2011 season after fracturing his ankle in practice on Thursday. Although rumors and speculation regarding the severity of the injury circulated on Thursday night, on Friday the university confirmed the fact that he indeed would miss the entire season.
The details, which are limited, are somewhat gruesome in detail. Apparently Davis had his left leg caught under a pile and let out a scream so loud it will haunt us in our dreams before falling and being carted off the field.
In 2010, Davis ran for 1,300 yards and 13 touchdowns, and he was expected to get an increased workload in 2011. While Arkansas still has talent at a lot of positions, including depth at running back, theres no doubt that this injury is a big one.
Fast, strong and just overall immensely talented, I was really looking forward to watching Davis shine in a conference loaded with talented runners. Arkansas fans are surely bummed as their season begins just three weeks from this Saturday, and you cant blame them. This is a horrid part of a wonderful game that rears its ugly head every so often.
As bad as it is for fans its much worse for Knile, and I simply cant imagine what he must be thinking right now. Hes struggled with injuries much of his college career and was anticipating (much like all of us) a monster season.
