Are my calculations wrong?

I have noticed in many threads that the value of trading from #1 to Jets #4 has been diffrent from thread to thread. Is my value from the draft value chart accurate to the real value of this transaction?

#1 = 3000pts
#4 = 1800pts

If this is accurate than the value of trading down with Jets is worth 1200pts

My recomendation for those 1200 pts( is this correct?)

1200pts=

Jets 2006
2nd #36 = 540pts
3rd #68 = 250pts

Jets 2007
1st = 410pts (equal to '06 #49)

540+250+410=1200pts

A 2nd round pick in '06 usually has the value of a '07 1st round pick. The 430 pts for Jets '07 #1 is equal to '06 #49 (2nd #17)

I hope we can come to an agreement on the value of trading down with the Jets so we can evaluate the possible trade and players to draft this year and the picks we will have next year.

I woulds suggest that the Jets 3rd round pick (#68) be traded for a '07 2nd rounder to any intrested party.

This would give the Texans:
'06
#4
#33
#38
#67
#68

'07
(2) 1st round
(2) 2nd round

I thin thats about right as far as the value goes, but I dont know if any one would give up a 2nd next year for a 3rd this year. Next year is shaping up to be a pretty strong draft class as well.

With that value couldn't we just make it the 1st and 2nd round picks in '06 and '07? That way we wouldn't have to find someone else to make the 3rd for 2nd trade. Jets might not go for that though.

id be happy with 2nd this year and a 1st next year:ok:

If the Jets are more willing to make that deal than that is ok with me.

That was the idea for the thread. I think we are intitled to more than a #2 this year and a #1 next.

I would be more inclined to trade picks #65 and #66 to the 49ers for pick #38 (the Jets would actually have given us #35 in the second).

giving us:

#4
#33
#35
#38
#68

Then perhaps trade #68 for a second rounder next year. This would give us the #4 pick.. plus 3 high 2nd rounders to grab all the 1st round talent that drops. And there will most likely be quite a bit of talent that drops out of the 1st in this year's draft.

But im not a GM and thats quite a bit of wheelin and dealin.. I wish March would hurry up so we could get all this overwith and start dealing with all of them "OMG WE DIDNT DRAFT YOUNG/BUSH!!!!" threads.

I think I love it.

The problem is that I don't think that we can sign the #4 pick and 3 high second rounders within the limits in the rookie pool. Would be great if it turned out that way though
