I was in a resaurant and it was on (no sound) and they spent a fair amount of time on the Texans, had a segment on Dunta and even asked the question of when they would be in the Superbowl. Did anyone catch it and what they said?

Can't say I did catch it, but I caught it the other day and the analysts were picking playoff teams. To my surprise Trey Wingo picked the Texans as a wild card team in the AFC. They went on to explain their picks, and Trey actually put forth good info backing his case. He pointed to the additions on defense, and to the injuries that hurt the offense & defense last season. He also mentioned Carr, AJ, DD, and Billy Miller. Both Sean 'The Steak' Salisbury and Mark Schlerth (sp?) seemed to agree that they'd be good, but not a playoff team. I'm not so certain we'll win a wildcard, but I think its possible for us to be competing for it at the end of the season. I'll see if I happen to see it today sometime.

One said they would make it into the Super Bowl in 2007 and the other said after 2010. I also found it interesting that in the fantasy picks they picked the Texans D for week one.

Yeah...I saw that too....Hey Rookie!

He appeared to be the most passionate about the game. The guy shed some discreet tears.... Those Texans secondary coaches were the ones out of all the coaches from the other teams with their rookies that talked the most ****...they were talking a lot of smack to Dunta....he just sucked it up and did it again. That guy is going to learn mighty fast!

I still have goosebumps. They all talked about the good coaching and about how good Dunta is going to be. Then, Salisbury talked about how good Carr is going to be this year and beyond. Mark Schlereth raved about how awesome D.Davis is going to be and how he's going to surprise people. Then Trey Wingo mentioned he thinks the Texans are going to be in the playoffs this year- but said they'll have to win back to back games first.

I don't take much stock in what these heads usually say. However, it sure is fun to hear things like that!

There is no reason the Texans cant make a wildcard spot. In todays NFL anything is possible. We werent supposed to beat the cowboys in our 1st game. we werent supposed to beat Miami at Miami. We werent supposed to do alot of things. But we have. And I dont want to count us out of anything at this time.

So, I guess they have superbowl 2005 through 2010 already lined up? So Carr and other vets would have to be on the team for 9 years before even thinking superbowl?

I'm genuinely excited about the season David Carr can have. As for Dunta Robinson, he's going to be a shutdown guy within a few years but he's still a rookie and he's gonna make his share of mistakes.

Sure, but that doesn't make him a liability. Carolina (Manning), Seattle (Trufant), and Dallas (Newman) all made the playoffs last year starting rookie corners. In fact by the time the playoffs rolled around, the rookies were the best cover guys on the team. Can Robinson become as good as those guys? I think he can be.

Imo, i think it's entirely possible for the Texans to make the playoffs. if the inury bug doesn't hit the texans, they have plenty of veteran players(5 or more years) to get us there. look at the offense, we have 3 vets starting on the OL plus 2 vetrans backing up, 2 veteran TEs and WR, plus a veteran backup QB. the defensive side is even better. 3 veteran DL, 3 Veteran LBs, and 3 vets in the secondary. look where carolina came from to make it to the superbowl. and i'm not even predicting superbowl, all i'm saying is it's entirely possible for the texans to make the playoffs. even if they don't and say go 7-9 or 8-8, i still think it's a big improvement from last year.

I don't know about the others but it helped Newman that the corner across from him was Mario Edwards. Robinson on the other hand will see a lot more passes his way because no QB wants to throw to Aaron Glenn.

True led but if Robinson has his man covered only other options throw at Glenn (BIG MISTAKE) throw to RB short yardage gain or throw it away. Robinson is a much better corner then Terrence Newman...living in this area you see a lot of media and most try to play Cowboys friendly but when not on air they all say he is not as good as he was picked

hey guys dont worry. The show yall are all talking about comes on at 9:00PM Central on ESPN... "hey rookie, welcome to the NFL". its gonna be on in about 10 minutes for those of you that missed it.

You're not even supposed to have an NFL team in Houston. It's supposed to be in LA.
