All Access

Hagar

Drink up yall, its the Texans!
My cousin and I decided to go to the All Access event this year.

How was the event last year?
How good of an oppurtunity is this for autographs?

According to an e-mail I just received from the Texans, ALL Texan players will be at All Access and will be available for autographs. The event is free, but you have to have a ticket to get in. It is an event supposedly for season ticket holders. You should be able to access tickets according to the number of seats you have. Didn't work for me. I have 5 seats, and one I share with a friend, they only offered me two tickets. I'm going to call them tomorrow.

It's a fun time, but, get ready to stand in line for a good while for autographs of high profile players. This will be the first year it is being held on a week day (night) so we will see how that goes. It will be on Thursday May 29th at 6pm.

Yall I am sooo sad now just posting this. As I have posted before, I have to be in Ohio for a fellowship during All Access. But I still have a ticket.

If anyone in the Blue Crew knows anyone who would like to attend and is willing to stalk Dunta for me and get his autograph and a few pics of the players....they can have my ticket. :(

Also in other news...I will officially be a college professor in the fall....at Wichita State University...which means I will be leaving Houston. But I will be raking in the frequent flyer miles because I will be at each and every home game! Plus some away games. Just because I love the Texans! :fans:

Is there anyway to get tickets to this without being a season ticket holder?

I hit my acct and it let me print all of mine.

Our buddy put his 4 up for charity. He did it to help raise a couple of bucks for some friends. Their infant son has brain cancer but is hanging in there. He as tough as his old man.

Anyway..the one or two of you that have a problem him selling free tix can kiss both of our....well you know.

Anyone wants to go and doesn't mind helping a good family out a bit should send me a PM for a link.

Thanks

What types of things are good to bring to get autographs? This is my first event and I want not sure if I should buy one of them footballs. I think I am wanting to get multiple sigs on one article. Any advice? How long are the lines?

Hardcore, its hit or miss when it comes to some of the big players. Last year I was able to get Green and M. Williams as far as big name players and got about 10 other players as well.

I personally like getting a helmet signed instead of a football. For one you can put more sigs on a helmet.

You just don't know who you'll get. The lines for the A list are LONG. Players change about every 45 or so minutes. BUT if you're in a C list line, there's a chance an A list may rotate in.

I like to have one item, be it helmet, towel, or ball, for all the B and C list players to sign. Then I may carry a seperate towel and helmet or something - last year, total luck, got Schaub to sign a mini helmet.

I may have 2 extra tickets depending on whether or not I'm back from my vacation to the east coast

Where is the best place to get the towels, mini helmets, etc? From ht.com? There is not much here in cenTex regarding Texans gear.

Sandy, if your seats arent all in a row you have to print them out seperatly. It won't let you print out your upper seats and lower seats at the same time. If you have any problems with it give me a call.:texflag:

Hrrrrrmmmmmmm...... Academy in Houston, Ebay, or the Go Texans store (may want to come in a little early and shop - just make sure the store at Reliant will be open when you're there!!).

Yeah, I was thinking Ebay, problem is they don't have a lot of options, I need to shop prior to, getting there early is not going to work too well, since I am driving in from RR, my kid will need to be at school part of the day.

Well, Go Texans store is at Reliant, so even an extra 20 minutes would give you time to shop, if they're open :)

If you really can't make it, PM me and I'll pick you up some stuff.

If you're looking for a Texans towel I can give you one, I have an extra one. PM me your address and I'll mail you one.

Awesome, rep for that :)

*edit* must spread some rep blah blah blah....

Among the other stuff.... Port Mansfield is alot of fun and Capt McBride is a pretty popular guide/writer.

Thanks all. Jonathon is a tough little fella. Just like his daddy.

Actually...his daddy threw the last pitch in SWC history. I forget who he struck out. Someone who made it to the majors? I know he was in the Chron when Rice beat Texas in football here. Him & Jose Cruz Jr were hanging on the goal post.

Alright, who's going?

I would fancy meeting some of ya'll.

Chances are I'll be wearing something like this:

Does anyone know if the Go Texans store at Reliant will be open. I would like to buy a Texans football (you know the ones that are half white for signatures or helmet to get signed). I assume they will have those there but overpriced. What about Academy? Are they the best option if I want to get something beforehand?

I am pumped up about this event. I think it is going to be awesome to meet the players and coaches and get to see the locker room, workout facilities, and to be able to walk out on the field.

I will be there, Lord willing and if the creek don't rise.

:jogger:

I saw you on the field (well, cement) about the time Mario was making his 30 second speech, lol. Would have said hi, but the crowd was too thick. :P

I also saw DB in the Auditorium, but he was only there for like a minute and I saw him just as he walked out the door. Oh, btw, anyone see the Playbook in a blue bin in that room? :O Someone's getting in trouble for that one, lol.

Guess I'll meet ya'll some other time then, eh?

Well, it was my first All Access and the only thing I can say is

"Damnnnn those lines were long!"

I stood in a line for 2 hours and had no clue who was going to be signing. I finally found out it was: Duane Brown, Demeco, Slaton, A.Johnson, Quinn Gray and I think there was someone else there. I was kinda glad I stood in that line but I think even with me standing in that long line I was one of the last folks to get a signature. If anyone wants to do some trading I might have an extra football I could trade for a mario one. I did luck out and also get Amobi and Sage's this year too.

It was a great time, saw Overalls again and met Bull Pen 1 for the first time, also caught up with Yankee and the Mrs. Got about 14 autographs or so and a bunch of pictures, I will post some when I have the chance to go through them and get back to broadband on Sunday.

Well, it was my first All Access and the only thing I can say is

"Damnnnn those lines were long!"

If this was the first time the Texans ran one of these, I would say it was poorly organized and they were incompetent. This is at least their third one so I will say they are evil and want to give their most loyal fans a miserable time.

They had two autograph sessions. The "biggest" names in the first session were Sage, CC Brown, and Travis Johnson. Schaub, A Johnson, A Davis, Owen Daniel, D Brown, Green, Slaton, M Williams, Okoye, Ryans, Robinson, Bennett all in the second session. The lines down on the floor were so long you couldn't be sure what line you were in. My Grandson and I decided to try for some of the second session big names. We got in separate lines on the floor about 6:30. There was a yellow shirt in front of me letting everyone know that he was the cutoff, no one behind him would be getting autographs from the early group but we could stay behind him to be in line for the second group (which is what we wanted anyway). Very nice and helpful guy. My grandson was behind the cutoff person in the other line. When they closed that line she was telling people "You are not in a line, this is not a line". She forced them to disperse, including grabbing my grandson's arm to pull him away. Then a minute or two later she allows a line to form! So instead of being near the front of the line, he is now at the back of the same line.

Since I was pretty far up in my line I got the signature there (Schaub, Robinson, Bennett, Spencer). My grandson did not get any autographs as they closed his line before he got to the front. He said that Owen Daniel stayed after the other players were told to leave and was signing for kids. Then a yellow shirt starting yelling at Owen and forced him to leave. I understand that they can't stay all night, but the yellow shirts need to determine the proper cutoff point - everyone in front of that point WILL get a signature and no one behind that point will. Instead they let a kid wait in line for three hours and then "Screw ya".

After I got the Schaub et al sigs, I got in the Andre / Demeco line. We did not move at all for at least 15 minutes. I guess as many people were cutting in line as were getting autographs. I was not even close to the ropes when they shut the line down. I didn't think my point in the line would get there, but since they did not cut if off I decided to wait it out with everyone else. If they would have given a reasonable cutoff, I could have gone upstairs and gotten some autographs there, or heck, even used the restroom or bought something to eat and drink.

Memo to real Bob: if you do this again put some of the big names in the first signing group. Get people who can count to determine where the proper line cutoff is. If the cutoff is not exactly right, have the players stay until all the people in front of the cutoff get their autographs. Don't force children out of the line. Get some organization to the lines on the floor. Don't be a jerk and give a bad experience to the team's most loyal fans. Normally I hate the idea of complaining about the team trying to do something for the fans, but the experience would be 10 times better with these changes that will cost NOTHING. (OK, maybe a little more, people who can count might want higher pay).

I don't do the autograph thing. We walked up to the side of the tables to see who's there, snapped a few pictures and offered some words of encouragement to the players and moved on. I certainly don't get in any line that's 100 yards long for any reason, except maybe if they're giving away money. The lines were definitely shorter up on the 100 level concourse.

Right before the Rick Smith introduced the players we walked back out on the floor and were surprised to see that line winding around the floor - especially when we saw there was no one at the table and they hadn't posted the names.

I thought Rick Smith's short program where he introduced the star players was great.

We saw Eric Winston as he walked through the 000 level concourse on his way to somewhere and Morlon Greenwood as he was walking the 100 level from the 610 booth to one of the autograph stations. It was kind of funny because a lot of people recognized Winston and hollered at him and no one recognized Greenwood as he walked right past the people piling stuff on their foot long hot dogs.

If I wouldn't have had my daughter along, I would have never noticed that Will Demps was the only player to have a loofah hanging in his locker next to a can of Burt's Bees Lip Balm. Hell, I didn't even know those things were called loofah's until last night. She had no clue who Demps was either before last night (or Ultimate for that matter) but she did check out their websites after we got home. Guys notice shoes and helmets. Girls notice the loofah's, lip balm, mouthwash and Advil.

There were meeting rooms open that I didn't see last year. Pretty cool stuff - especially the O-line's meeting room off to the side of the main meeting room. Several playbooks were open the desks. I don't think they were props since they had the player's names on them. The plays certainly looked real enough. Everyone wrote notes of encouragement on the wall with the dry erase markers. Some chick left her phone number for Andre Johnson (in the o-line's meeting room).

Definitely lots of new cheerleader faces... a different group for sure.

Sausage (Red) better win. The other two samples were tasteless...

We had a great time.

I went for quantity, not quality, for the autographs. Probably the biggest name I got was Morlon Greenwood. I got in a bunch of short lines before the break and got 4 after.

I did get to meet Whiskeyrbl, he and I waited (and waited) for them to open the line we were in after the break.

And talk about hot, Jeff Zgonina is incredible looking in person. His pictures do NOT do him justice.

I had fun. I don't do autograghs, except from the cheerleaders.

I really go to see you people and buy some new crap. I ran into several of ya, but missed a lot of you.
