After All I've been through....

Practice Squad
I'll say this.

I am a true Texan fan. I will not jump ship over 1 pick, nor will I cry about it.

I go to school up here in Pittsburgh (I got to PITT) and I just endured a years worth of being the butt of jokes from oh so prideful steelers fans, but I could care less about them.

I was SO EXCITED after the Rose Bowl and I'll admit I got a bit over emotional and started on the whole "WE SHOULD PICK VINCE" thing.

Time went on, I thought long and hard about it, and I decided we were just going to have to go the route of an offensive oriented team. Not that defense can or should be neglected in any case, but that offense would have to be our best defense.

This is when I decided Reggie was just too good to deny and that he was the way to go.

Having said all that, the Texans go and try me again, putting on this fiasco the night before as if my LAST FINAL EXAM being tomorrow DURING the draft wasn't distraction enough.

All I am left with is a disheartening feeling, but I will remain a fan of this team for as long as they exist. I'm from H-Town and I can't root for any other squad, it's not in my blood. I really, REALLY hope that Mario Williams turns out to be the outstanding player this pick deserves to be spent on, and I don't doubt that he is of that caliber.

However, it would be stupid for anyone to try to deny what Reggie Bush is capable of, and this off-the-field business shouldn't come out of your mouth, because it's irrelevant.

I am dissappointed on this night, and I will not forget it, ever, for as long as I watch the NFL and more importantly the Texans.

Nothing left in me, except...

Go Texans!

Why is this jumping ship BS coming up?? If you're jumping ship, or even thinking about jumping ship, go ahead and jump. You're not a fan anyway. Get off the freaking servers here so Texans fans can discuss the team.

I feel ya. Its a laughable and selfish statement but I feel ya. I deserve better ...right? lol.

Everybody has a different opinion but NOONE DISAGREES that Bush & Vince are once in a lifetime players ...to pass on BOTH of them ...for lack of a better word ...is STUPID!

I'm all for drafting Vince ...he's clearly the best choice ...
Bush I could live with
even D'Brick I could understand.

But this ...although would be a GREAT pick at maybe #6-10 ...but not at #1

I mentioned the jumping ship BS because I read about it in other threads, and I wanted to state first and foremost that I was a Texans fan and NOTHING, No pick, no individual player's status will EVER CHANGE THAT. I thought I made that clear, but obviously I did not and for that I must apologize. I have read this forum for a long while now, but this incident affected me enough to actually register and post. I said outright that I believe in Mario Williams. But there still remains no doubt in my mind of Reggie Bush's ability, and our passing of him just concerns me from a big picture standpoint. For the record I don't like Casserly, and the fact that he will not be our GM next year only puts this decision further into justifiable light for questioning. Please tell me you think Casserly is the best man for the job. Please.

I agree that he's clueless, but he didn't make this decision alone. NONE of the people involved considered the voice of the Loyal Texans Fans. And after a season like we just had ...somebody should consider pleasing the fans. WE DESERVE TO BE PASSIFIED DAMNIT!

Yeah, from a business standpoint, at least in the immediate sense, it seems like fan loyalty would be at least a bit of an issue after a season like weve just been through. But then, from that standpoint one would think Vince cause hes the hometown pick. I don't know everything, but I know Reggie Bush will be an outstanding player in this league for a long time to come, and I hope that this doesn't become that draft me and my fellow Texans fans look back on and say "damn, what the hell were we thinking?"
