I'll say this.
I am a true Texan fan. I will not jump ship over 1 pick, nor will I cry about it.
I go to school up here in Pittsburgh (I got to PITT) and I just endured a years worth of being the butt of jokes from oh so prideful steelers fans, but I could care less about them.
I was SO EXCITED after the Rose Bowl and I'll admit I got a bit over emotional and started on the whole "WE SHOULD PICK VINCE" thing.
Time went on, I thought long and hard about it, and I decided we were just going to have to go the route of an offensive oriented team. Not that defense can or should be neglected in any case, but that offense would have to be our best defense.
This is when I decided Reggie was just too good to deny and that he was the way to go.
Having said all that, the Texans go and try me again, putting on this fiasco the night before as if my LAST FINAL EXAM being tomorrow DURING the draft wasn't distraction enough.
All I am left with is a disheartening feeling, but I will remain a fan of this team for as long as they exist. I'm from H-Town and I can't root for any other squad, it's not in my blood. I really, REALLY hope that Mario Williams turns out to be the outstanding player this pick deserves to be spent on, and I don't doubt that he is of that caliber.
However, it would be stupid for anyone to try to deny what Reggie Bush is capable of, and this off-the-field business shouldn't come out of your mouth, because it's irrelevant.
I am dissappointed on this night, and I will not forget it, ever, for as long as I watch the NFL and more importantly the Texans.
Nothing left in me, except...
Go Texans!
