Aaron Ross in Round 2???

HuttoKarl

Veteran
I know that Ross didn't have the insane numbers that Chris Houston did at the combine, but I think he could be the better player. He can play bump, zone and return kicks. Houston doesn't play zone well. Ross is a good football player more than he's a workout guy.

Depending on free agent moves and our first rounder, I feel that Ross could be a great pickup for us.

I'd be more intrigued with Daymeion Hughes if he fell to the 2nd round more so than Aaron Ross. Hughes is a more physical corner, and that is what our secondary is lacking, besides veteran leadership, is physicalness. We have, in my opinion, one of the worst 2 or 3 tackling secondaries in the league.

I'd be pro drafting aaron ross in the 2nd depending on who else fell to our pick. I am also intrigued with daymeion hughes as well. did any of y'all read the article on the texans website on him and reggie nelson? it said they were both gamblers..

Our secondary would be vastly improved with the selection of Laron Landry in the 1st. Then pair that up with the selection of a cb like ross or hughes in the 2nd!! I like having Earl there at SS.

Just think of our secondary:

Dunta---LaRon----Earl----Ross

that would be great for the AFC South

I've heard rumor that Daymeon Hughes's combine has plummetted him on draft boards everywhere. He was SLOW and his vertical leap was non-existant. A CB can't be slow and can't stay on the ground. He's going to have to have a spectacular pro day to move back up.

Excuse me...did you mention Glenn Earl as a starter? LOL. How about Michael Lewis? You can't have a secondary full of young, fast guys. It works from an athleticism standpoint, but you've gotta have veteran leadership.

I think you have the players mixed up...

They even broke down the film of both corners on NFL network during the combine...They showed a couple plays with Ross playing off the line and he looked terribly uncomfortable. He is best at playing bump and run.

Chris Houston is a beast. period.

leon hall, darrelle revis, and chris houston should all be selected in the 1st round.

that leaves aaron ross, daymeion hughes, marcus mccauley as the next 3 cb's is that correct?

however now with the release of moulds...there may be a good receiver that falls to us in the 2nd rd.

calvin johnson, ted ginn jr, dwayne jarrett, robert meachem look like they will all be 1st rders to me,...if not we select one of them in 2nd.

that leaves who...dwayne bowe...sidney rice..who else?

would you rather the best cb available or best wr available if thats the case...

sorry to change the dynamic of this thread.

if you have ever watched him play, you wouldnt say that his vertical is non-existant, this is one of those examples were his workouts do not mean anythin compared to what he can do on the field, hes a great corner, gonna be special

Best Corner.

Second most important position in football.

I think so too. This is a deep WR draft, but a draft with WR's many think could bust as easily as excel.

I'd love to go CB and spend some extra money trying to get Kevin Curtis to be our second WR.
