A hypothetical question-- Peterson related

Toro

So, suppose Houston picks AP at 8.. Will the self professed national experts get the hell off the collective Texan backs for not taking Bush? In terms of media attention, AP was at least on par with Bush last year.

I think that if he takes off they will, if he struggles it will probably get worse. Thankfully, AP is way more of a pro prospect as a true running back then Reggie, so I really see him hitting the ground running.

The ultimate measuring stick is going to be NO @ HOU this season...prepare yourself for the Reggie loving

I've always (even when Bush was still at USC) felt that Peterson would be the better Pro HB, whereas Reggie would be the more explosive playmaker. I guess personal preference can determine which of the two you'd rather have. To me, Bush has a little bit of Herschell Walker, a little bit of Dante Hall, a little bit of Keith Byars and a little bit of Gayle Sayers in him.. He's capable of taking it to the hole everytime he touches the football, and may eventually be one of the better pass catching HB in football.

That said though, AP is the man. He reminds me a LOT of Dickerson in his younger years, and has some Marcus Allen burst for him.

Main thing about Bush is, he's always shared the load-- in USC with White now in New Orleans with McAllister. Peterson, on the other hand, has been THE man of Oklahoma's offense literally since the first day he stepped foot in Norman.

I know on a hype perspective, the national media loves the guy, so I think this pick of Peterson may be made not only to give this franchise a "face" so to speak, and to fill a pretty glaring need, but it also would wash away a lot of the "stench" (although I'll ALWAYS defend the drafting of Williams, until otherwise noted) from last year's draft.
