A disappointing end to an expected season

Rightnow

Waterboy
I expected the team to go 7-9 to 9-7 this year and miss the playoffs. They did exactly that. The team is actually on course for when it comes to wins, and DC had his best season yet. I am happy that we have good ownership and a good GM.

But I am going to pull my hair out if next season if the play calling is so predictable.

On 610 Capers said play calling is over rated. Well I guess any monkey can call plays then, and they work for peanuts.

Also, can we please have an O-line? Please?!?

We went backwards on the sack statistic, and I believe it would have been much worse if DC couldn't move like he does. If we have 40+ sacks next season, the Texans won't be in the playoffs and DC will probably miss some games. He just can't take a beating game after game the rest of his career. How many more years will it take to have just an average O-line?

BTW I love the Texans, but the coaches make some boneheaded decisions in playcalling and appear unable to put together an O-line after 3 years. It isn’t just me so if you want to attack me for bad play calling so be it but

read this first.

Thank you, I feel much better for that rant.

Texans needed to focus on getting AJ the ball. I understand it is hard to throw him the ball when DC is running for his life half the time, but AJ is the best player on the field. Coaching needs to realize this. DD had an awesome game as well. We could have done a little play action to help alievate some of the pressure.

What the Texans need to focus on is #1 O-line #2 D-Line #3 a second WR to complement AJ.

C'mon the BROWNS? If Carr would start paying attention on the task at hand instead of his hair ..... what a flamer!!!!!

Well...the team that lost to the Browns, outscored your team 41-6...and swept you.

Feel better?

I caught part of a Marv Levy interview on Rome a couple of weeks back. I wish I could get a written copy of it. He is a interesting fellow. He was talking about the days of the k-gun offense and Jim Kelly. Kelly called all the plays, mostly at the line of scrimmage. Levy said they only had about 10 plays they just EXECUTED them all exceptionally well. He said now days there are too many offensive coordinators making things too complicated and execution fails.

What do you think ? buy any of this ?

could be, I have heard that Fangio's defense is somewhat too complicated at times also
