So heres the problem Im seeing.
1. Our O-line as a group is arguably the worst in the entire NFL. 2 of the have huge contracts that have been extended. I don't know how much is invested in McKinney, Wiegart, or Riley, but Im sure they are being payed very well if the rest of the team's mediocre play=$$$$ rule is in effect.
2. Our D-Line+ Linebackers get almost no pass rush. Once again, this group of misfits is locked up for a while.
3. Our O-Line thinks they are great because they can block our ****** D-Line. The opposite is also true, in that our D-Line thinks they are ready for regular season because they can sometimes break through our awful O-Line.
In conclusion, we have no way of improving except 16 days out of the year when we can actually practice against people who are "talented" Its like if you wanted to be a professional basketball player, and all you could do was shoot hoops while being defended by an elementary school girl, you might think you were amazing. When you faced real competition, though, embarassment ensued.
