2nd Round pick....Who do you want????

Either O-line or Defense. i like Addai but i doubt he'll be there and he some ankle injuries at LSU but he might be over by now (he sure was over it against MIAMI) lol!

They may move up with the 2nd round pick to late 1st round. I would like either RB D. Williams or CB Marshall. Marshall could be a benefactor of watching all of the Linert-Bush tape of the FSU vs SC game.

NFL.com is already reporting that the Texans have made inquiries about moving up in the last part of the 1st round to get the next best running back. Their initial thinking was Bush and best available DE in the 2nd round or Mario Williams and move up to grab a back that can actually handle a 25 carry load. Makes a hell of alot more sense than the first scenario.

And BTW, for the "experts" that are all over this board crying like little girls.... HALF of the NFL teams had Mario and Reggie with the same #1 grade. 6 GMs actually had Mario rated higher. That is a fact according to Adam Scheffler on the NFL Network.

Reggie is good but, who the hell wants a player who was quoted as saying that he was "going to have to get use to losing"? Embrace Mario. He is the real deal for people who actually get paid to know these things.

I want to trade up and get D'Angelo Williams somehow... I wanted him more than Bush anyways.

(I know it won't happen, but I can dream)

I am leaning that way as well. If a defensive back run begins early, we may be able to snatch him.

Slay (Safety) from Texas Tech.

He's one of those "roamers" who just sits in the middle of the field and waits for a head to rip off when it comes near him. Did you catch the TTU vs. Kansas State game when the QB ran up the middle and in about .3 seconds Slay was missiled into him and literally speared him like a pro wrestler?

That's a guy I'd like to have, a guy who'd take Buchanon's mess and clean it up when Buchanon gets burned off the snap.

According to league sources it may very well happen (see my previous post). And I'm totally with you. He is a special back who can actually handle the load.

Slay is a 6th rounder. No thanks to a DB with snail speed.

Didn't he run a 5.0 40 or something? I think I remember hearing that...

Ran a high 4.8. That is pedestrian for a DB. He will get drafted though for his tenacious hitting and mean streak. Might stick as a special teamer somewhere.

could he convert to LB?

Scouting report says he is too stiff in the hips for that transistion. Does not allow him the ability to turn and run with athletic TE's and RB's.

i'd go with the best RB available, and from the looks of it, it'll be maroney

williams - panthers
addai - colts
white - steelers
maroney - texans?

Maroney's cockiness will keep him from becoming a Texan. Plus everyone here questioned Bush's build. This guy is a rail in comparison. Doesn't have the girth to move the pile. Latest reports are that the Texans are trying to trade up for Williams. I would be happy with Addai's versatility.

MANGOLD!!! A lot of mocks don't have him going in the 1st round, so I think he would be a great pick-up. I think he can easily play guard as well. He would just be great for us on the interior line.

2) jonathan joseph,richard marshall,jason allen,or youboty.........best available.3)darren colledge and maurice drew

I like this except for Youboty. Tackles about as good as Deion Sanders.

Running Back?!? DD is our starter, and Morency is a great backup in the same mold as DD. And then Wells is a serviceable 3rd stringer to say the least. There are much better things we can do other than RB. I see no need at the RB position. Especially with our high 2nd rounder? Forget it.

Not my idea. NFL.com is reporting that the Texans have been inquiring with a few teams to MOVE UP to the latter part of the 1st round to take the next best available running back (I don't understand either). McNair has backed this claim up on ESPN. I'm just saying that the other guys idea of Maroney will not pan out.

Really? That's messed up! My gawd, it looks like we suck again.....

if we do move up to the bears #26 for a back,DeAngelo will be gone so i would prefer as a change of pace to DD and morency

Dudes work ethic (or lack there of) scares me. How on earth can you have NEVER been timed in the 40? Not even in jr. high. And 13 or 14 reps on 225? As big as dude is? I don't care what he did behind college footballs most dominate line. The guy is lazy and not a typical Texan "character" player.

The draft is still not over and only Mario knows were he will end up. Or does he? There have been many sign and trade deals in the draft before, is this another? The Texans' brass seems to be content with their selection, and they know that Mario will have an instant impact. But is there another team at the top of the draft that covets Mario so much that they are willing to offer the "godfather" trade the media has forgotten about? If there was a team that felt the Saints were going to take Mario and would not be available when their selection came, they could get him through a trade. If Houston knew the pick they covet will slide to a later position, why not think of a trade?

Even if the Texans stay with Mario, which I think they sould, could the Texans still continue to make as much news in the draft? Charley Casserly said he will not "draft" a QB. Lets continue to pray that Texans have something up their sleeves. It would be nice to keep Mario and trade Carr to the team that drafts Vince. Of course we would have to throw in another pick, possibly one of our third rounders. Then we could use the second rounder on an offensive lineman and draft the best available players with the remaining picks. The Texans would become a playoff contender and regain the support of their fans at the same time.

Bob McNair stated that he wanted world wide recognition with his team. He wants his team to be on the same status of the NY Yankees. I know for a fact any team at that level makes big moves, so will the Texans? As a Texan fan I would pay twice as much for season tickets if they could pull it off.
