2cnd half

we were up 10 and won the turnover battle 2 to 0 in the second half. sounds like a win. instead we get outscored 13 to 0 and lose. two of the reasons why i think we lost

1) seemed like gb made some adjustments and we just kept trying to do the same things.

2) they need to try to give carr some better plays to audible to. those runs up the middle are not working well.

besides that i would like to see a little more blitzing.

Is it me or does it seem like we run the same defense when we have 3rd and long against someone.. a basic 3 man rush with some kind of zone coverage and we get burned time and time again because our front 3 can't get pressure?

Well, we seem to be obsessed with the audibles. Capers said that Carr audibles 25% of the plays. When you check to a run you either run inside or outside the tackles. There are not too many other options when you run.

Exactly right. On audibles, the QB is either going to check down to a basic run play, or if he's sees a shot at a quick gain, as in a slant, quick out, or post route against man-to-man coverage, no safety help. Otherwise, your not going to see an extensive route run by the entire receiving corp. :hmmm:

They just said on 610am what I heard previously....that Carr has changed about 1 in every 4 plays called this season. If you don't like what you see in the play calling then Carr needs to take some of this blame too.

im very obssessed with the audibles.. im not very good when it comes to guessing what play will be next.. or at catching everything happening on the field. But even I knew what was going to happen every time Carr audibled.

Now.. whatever the reason for it.. it needs to stop. If it isnt fooling anyone.. and it isnt getting us yardage.. then it isnt worth doing. Id rather him throw it and risk the interception at this point than hand it off in the 4th quarter when we HAVE TO GET SOME YARDS. Our receivers are good enough that they could pluck one out of the air.

some plays have to be audibled out of im just wondering if carr has any options other than runs when he audibles. if he does then yes a lot of the blame has to be directed toward him. if not then the coaches need to work on getting him some better plays to audible into.

actually i wasnt real dissapointed in the play calling just a couple of plays were questionable. in one instance on our last drive on 2cnd and 3 i thought they should of ran and they called a pass play. if they would of ran they could of took some time off the clock and might of got the first down. then if they get the first they could of then started hurrying up. and if they didnt get it farve wouldnt of had so much time for the game winning drive.

What about this?

On a called pass play that does not need to be audibled, Carr calls an audible that all of the offense knows is a fake. They run the originally called play. At least that way, the defense doesn't know that every audible is a run.

They need to do something that is not so very obvious. Either they start faking some audibles or they need to call some passing audibles.

and Carr deserves some of the blame, he is the leader of this offense. Is Carr reviewing plays, photos, etc. when he's on the sideline, or just sitting there playing with his hair? Espn shots, showed Brett Favre studying photos and preparing for the next series. No one person deserves all the blame for the failure of an offense. It's a team. Who deserves the blame? The qb, line, rb, offensive cord, line coach, qb coach, head coach. Really, the only one's I can't fault are the receivers.
