So contrary to building thru FAs both the Rams & Patriots were big losers in free agency last year as each received 2 3rd round picks.

More like trades. Rams picked up both starting CBs and Cooks in trades. Suh was a FA, but had been cut and therefore not part of the compensation equation. The Pats traded a 3rd I think for LT Trent Brown. Can’t think of any significant FA signing for New England last year. Losing Nate Solder and Malcolm Butler netted a couple of 3rds.

Dante Fowler trade also.

Josh Gordon/Danny Shelton trade/Jason McCourty/Clayborn FA pickups.

That Belichick guy just might know what he's doing. You know why I think he could do this for another 10+ years if he wanted? He's never stressed out. I'm not saying he doesn't get upset. Just that it doesn't stick to him. He gets up, and prepares for the next task. If I were picking a coach, that's a trait I would look for.

These type people are very rare to find in any industry.
