2017 National Championship - Clemson vs Alabama

Become a real fan of Rashaan Evans the last two Bama games. Big and strong, explosive and quick. Just hasn't gotten a ton of snaps because of the stable of studs in front of him. I'd consider him as early as the third (maybe earlier) if he came out tomorrow. Think he'll stay of course and drive his stock through the roof next year, but he flashes so well I'd take him just off that.

I'm too busy with the Dallas Stars (plus NCAA has lost it for me except for Houston). But it looks like a really good game so far. I might have to watch this one on a future replay.

Watson showing some toughness. He's played in a spread and has shown a tendency to be a bit careless but he's a competitor. He's helped himself tonight, no doubt.

I like him. Hes accurate, mobile, has pocket awareness and durable. All qualities we are lacking at the QB position. Draft him, improve the OL and bring in a bell cow powerful running back that can wear defenses down.

Boulware gives a shout out to DHop (and a number of other Clemson ex-mates) saying this is for them too.

Very freakin cool.

I can't decide if this or the Rose Bowl was better but man CFB this year was really good.

Much better than the NFL.

Losing Eddie Jackson and Kimbrough finally caught up with the Tide. I've got no horse in this race, but Clemson was running some very effective/illegal pick plays in this game.

There was nothing illegal about them. Pick plays aren't outright illegal. There is some leeway. On the first one, Leggett did rub the DB but he still ran an actual route. It was perfectly done. On the second one, they were clearly trying to pick the slot CB but never got a chance because the boundary CB just tackled the WR and picked his own guy anyway with the pile they created.

Immediately thought 'penalty' on the game winner, but replayed it and saw that the wide cb didn't leverage the route so much as juat grab the wr and backpedal and the slot cb just kind of gave himself up easily and that's why Renfrow was miles open with no flag. Clemson ran it well, but the dbs didn't even attempt to make it tough on them or the refs. Didn't see the first pick play.

I thought the first pick play was offensive interference. The game winner was not. It was exactly as Wolverine described, the DB grabbed the WR and did all the work for him.

There were also 2 or 3 clear interferences on Bama that did not get called. Their backend was not used to this level of attack, it showed.

Losing Eddie Jackson finally caught up with Bama. Fitzpatrick would've been playing CB all night and things very easily would've turned out differently.

With that said Congrats Clemson, a very worthy champion.
