I think offensive tackle is very weak position for 2017 draft especially for the left side unfortunately for Texans. Perhaps the season will show that our team is stronger and deeper than I think. All news on Duane Brown is he will be ready by game one regular season :fostering:. He turns 31 August 30th and dead money is $2.5 m this year, zero for next two with substantial cap savings if he leaves.

Offensive tackles:

Alabama Cam Robinson 6'6" 326 Jr. projected early by many to be top 15 over all was arrested with DB (reserve) Laurence Jones earlier this year. CR charged with misdemeanor of carrying firearm in presence of narcotics (MJ) + felony of stolen firearm. I'm think this will be reduced & Alabama already hurting on Oline will get him on field as soon as possible. If so, he has at least one season to become a saint.

UCLA Connor McDermott 6'5" 310 Jr. history of shoulder problems but recovered to have excellent second half of 2014 blocking for Brett Hundley. 2015 with QB Josh Rosen, CM seemed to regress allowing two sacks, three QB hits and 14 QB hurries [per Rotoworld quoting PFF.

Texas A&M Avery Gennesy 6'5" 305 Jr. ranked recently by Chad Reuter #43 over all.

Arkansas Dan Skipper 6'9" 321 Jr. predicted by most to move to RT NFL but I believe he has LT skills; also very strong. Here is awesome video of one hand block on Texas Tech in 2014:
http://www.arkansasfight.com/2014/9/13/6146205/dan-skippers-one-armed-pancake-block-vs-texas-tech

Okla Orlando Brown 6' 8" 350 RSoph ranked by Reuter # 58 overall.

USC Chad Wheeler 6'7" 280 Jr. despite his weight appeared strong and has frame to add. Knee surgery in 2015 + history of two concussions; one IIRC was a medicine ball dropped on his head (?). He missed 2015 Holiday Bowl as emplePolice arrested him for under influence at his off campus apt shared with his girlfriend and 7 month old child. He was punching walls.

USC Zac Banner 6'8" 360 (whew) Jr. Bilateral hip surgery 2013. (CnnnD should have fun)

Temple University Dion Dawkins 6'5" 318 Jr. suspended by school & and arrested with DL Hansaan Riddick for assault of another Temple student Jan 17, 2016.

No Myles Garrett? Or will he be in the OLB section

Garrett should go top 8 nowhere close to Texans. He would be perfect for 3-4 but I don't see a OLB in top two picks for us. I like a bigger DE to step in such as Wise from Arkansas. Due to roster I think we go left tackle and DE top two regardless of who does what this season. DB turns 31 this August. My plan is to draft his replacement and to train under Brown 2017. This is if he is healthy. The good news is if Brown returns to health and starts remainder of contract thru 2018, his is a good contract and our 2017 pick gets good experience for '17 & '18; if pick beats DB out in '18 we still have reasonable money at that position. If Brown cannot play, he can be eliminated any year with excellent savings. As I see it our only risky year is this one depending on Brown and Clark's play.

Left tackle looks one very good player better now that charges dropped on Cam Robinson. Keep out of trouble and have a good 2016 and he will be a first round pick. Also have been digging deeper into LT possibilities for 2017.
