I think its worth discussing who might be available for the Texans in 2014 if we decide to pass on a QB and address other needs.

Am I the only one who feels dirty considering Vick? I know he has a horrible past, and hes 33 (34 by the time training camp starts) but I cant help from thinking he is the best of this motley crew.

I think Henne will get resigned by jville and Josh McCown should be available if we want to go that route. He looked good throwing to Marshall and Jeffery.

I don't want Vick. I don't think he'd make a good mentor and I don't want to have to root for him. The Eagles were my second team for a long time but I stopped rooting for them when he became their QB.

Cassel knows the system and has worked with BOB before. If I were going to be looking for someone to bring in as my Matt Hasselbeck for Luck, he'd be the guy.

The only name I like on that list is Henne.

If we draft a guy who needs half a year to sit (I hope we don't), Henne can get by and then provide a really god back up QB presence.

I'd be happy with anyone of those to compete with our rookie QB for the starting job. If Vick doesn't feel like he needs to compete with a rookie, scratch him off the list.
 
Let's sign three of these bums (whoever, really doesn't make any difference) and trade down our #1 draft pick and use half the draft on defensive linemen and the other half on offensive linemen. Gotta build those trenches.

I wouldn't touch anybody on that list with your ****,

But if OB does it would be Cassel I'd think.
 
Possibilities:

Vick (if we draft a mobile QB)
Henne (still shows flashes)
Cassel (system guy)
J. McCown (older, but from Texas and played at SMU and SHS ... may have a couple years left)
Whitehurst (had potential, not sure whats left)
Clausen (if he has progressed and just not seen the field because of Newton)
Simms (looked decent last year in a couple games with Jets)
Freeman (wildcard, may be back to what everyone thought he could be or may just have imploded)
 
What an awful list. I may give Colt McCoy a look to see if there's anything there that playing in Cleveland didn't ruin.
