You're Top 10 after Saturday?

All the losses are going to make it very interesting. All of a sudden, Notre Dame is back in the National Championship picture. Arkansas should be getting some exposure also. Here's how I would have my top 10 if I were a voter:

1. Ohio State
2. Michigan
3. USC
4. Florida
5. Arkansas
6. Notre Dame
7. Texas
8. West Virginia
9. LSU
10. Cal

1. Ohio State
2. Michigan
3. Florida
4. USC
5. Rutgers
6: Arkansas
7. Notre Dame
8. Texas
9. LSU
10. Wake Forest

1. Ohio State
2. Michigan
3. Florida
4. USC
5. Rutgers
6: Arkansas
7. Notre Dame
8. Texas
9. LSU
10. Wake Forest

You think Wake Forest is a top 5 team? Interesting...I don't necessarily agree with you there but I'd love to see them have a shot against one of the big boys in a BCS game. It'd be nicer if it were a playoff system but that's a different story. I'm not sure where to put Wake Forest. They dominated Florida State today and their coach has to be one of the top candidates for Coach of the Year. He's done an incredible job.

ND gets Jumped by everyone?
Not sure why some here hate on ND.

1. Michigan
2. Ohio State
3. Rutgers (undefeated)
4. Florida (they were ahaedof others before sat)
5. USC
6. Notre Dame
7. Arkansas
8. Wisconsin
9. Wake Forest
10. Louisville

This is more like it Rutgers should be 3....

Texas should not be in the top 10

Saturday was not a regular UT team. Colt McCoy was out, which is worse than it would be if Troy Smith was out.

McCoy has 2 weeks to get ready for A&M. I say we win, beat Nebraska again, and proudly go to our BCS game. I will be happy with that.

what about that Gene Chezek or however you spell his name...

The defense sucks

Marcus Griffin (Michael's twin brother).

That is all you need to know.

Yea. Aaron Ross got beat deep twice.

Marcus Griffin blew AT LEAST 7 coverages just in the second half. He was horrible.

It must suck to know that your TWIN brother is a 1st round talent & you probably wont even get drafted.

And yes, I actually am a twin so dont bash me for that.

There were rumors he'd be getting a head coaching job after this season. Don't think that's going to happen this year. Whoever the secondary coach is for TU, he's probably got some ice packs on his butt because he feels the heat.

RUMOR HAS IT that miami really likes chizik.

1- Ohio State
2- Michigan
3- Florida
4- USC
5- Arkansas
6- Notre Dame
7- Rutgers
8- West Virgina
9- Texas
10- California

West Virginia #8 but no Louisville?

1- Michigan (only cuz my brother is a :homer: & has guaranteed victory over the Bucs)
2- Ohio St
3- Rutgers
4- Arkansas
5- USC
6- Florida
7- Texas (With McCoy. Without him they are lower)
8- Louisville
9- California
10- Notre Dame (They have played one good team so far & they got crushed)

Would a team like Miami go after Chizik? They seem like a team that would require somebody with head coaching experience. If they're looking for a defensive coordinator, why not promote Randy Shannon? He might be a better candidate than Chizik on every front.

miami's always been one to give the job to a guy with no HC experience. that being said, you'd think they'd want to give it to a name guy in light of how soiled the program's name is at this point. they just need to hire someone that injects a ton of hope and excitement for next season. if they promote a guy in-house, it just won't be the same thing. if they can get greg schiano, just imagine how much hype there will be in coral gables next year.

Chizik's resume is also bolsterd by teh fact that he helped build the Auburn D form a few years back that absolutly dominated everybody they ran into.

Chizik is not long for a promotion, if he wants it.

Well if he lands the Miami job, I'd be more than happy to replace him with Shannon in Austin.

i doubt shannon would make that lateral move (or maybe even a backwards move ;) ). it's been too long for him as it is to become HC.

How if Notre Dames only loss is to Michigan and you have them at 10th and USC lost to OREGON STATE you have them 5th... I don't get how that works...

Texas does not deserve the top 10. A 2 loss team should not be in the top 10, sorry.

You can go cry about McCoy all you want but the fact is your defense gave up a ton of points. I don't think Colt plays on the defense, or does he? You never know with TU anymore.

LSU could roll with any team. Their loss to Auburn was a fluke and they muffed 2 punts and fumbled on the goaline at Florida.

No one wants to play LSU right now. It's a shame that their away schedule is so tough.

That may be true, but the fact is that they still lost 2 games.

You do know offense and defense go hand in hand? A bad running game will turn a great defense into a mediocre defense. Or in this case, a good defense into a bunch of lost kids.

Wow. An Aggy who hates Texas. What a suprise.

I think they are a top 10 team. They may have lost 2 games, but I still think that they are one of the top 10 most talented teams.

USC DOMINATED Arkansas (a top 10 team).
They beat Nebraska (a top 20 team) by 3 TDs.
They beat Oregon (a top 25 team) by 25 points.
Their only loss (to an okay team) was by 2 points.

Notre Dame did beat Penn St (a decent team, top 25 to some people, not me) by 24.
Their only loss (to a top 3 team) was by 26 points.

Quality wins: USC (Arkansas, Nebraska, & Oregon) - Notre Dame (Penn St)
Edge - USC

Loss: USC (Oregon St) - Notre Dame (Michigan)
Edge - Notre Dame

Schedule: USC (opponents 52-41, 56%) - Notre Dame (opponents 55-48, 53%)
Edge - USC

Thats why.

Arkansas is a much different team now. Their QB is a true freshman and that was his first ever college football game.

The loss still counts.

Texas is a whole different team since they lost to Ohio St. McCoy is a freshman & that was only his second career college football game (the first being against North Texas). And Texas lost the Kansas St game with McCoy out with an injury.

Those losses still count for them.

The losses still count , but Arkansas and Texas are completely different teams since their losses at the beginning of the season. I you put USC against Arkansas now, Arkansas would run all over them.

Exactly, LSU beat themselves in both of their losses.

1. Ohio State 11-0
2. Michigan 11-0
3. Florida 9-1
4. Arkansas 9-1
5. USC 8-1
6. Rutgers 9-0
7. Notre Dame 9-1
8. West Virginia 8-1
9. Oklahoma 8-2
10. Wisconsin 10-1
11. Louisville 8-1
12. LSU 8-2
13. Boise State 10-0
14. Wake Forest 9-1
15. Texas 9-2

Nice to see some of you putting Wake Forest in your top ten. I'm a Wake student, and its nice to see some people starting to give us some respect. Not sure if we are quite that good yet, but this team is something special. If any of you have any questions about our team or any of our prospects ask away and I will give you my best insights.

Go Deacs and Texans

OU ahead of UT...ha ha!

here's how i feel the top 10 will shake up after the regular season, BCS-wise:

1: ohio state
2: rutgers
3: michigan
4: arkansas
5: florida
6: wisconsin
7: USC
8: louisville
9: LSU
10: notre dame

I'd say quality wins is about equal, with Notre Dame also topping Georgia Tech, who is ranked top 20. Either way, they are getting 2 more loses... to Notre Dame and Cal

yeah i'm not sure how anyone can think that. forget the fact that texas actually beat OU, but how the hell can texas drop all the way to 15? nonsense.

You guys are all aware of my distaste for anything burnt orange (an understatement), but I still have to agree with this.

I think the AP poll is perfect as it is right now. Texas at 11 doesn't bother me... but they are not a single digit team after last week.

Texas to 15 because they have had 3 very mediocre weeks in a row....they lucked out against Nebraska and Texas Tech and got beat by a bad K-State team...their defense is terrible. Texas will lose at least 1 more to either Aggy or the big 12 championship.

I put OU at #9 because that is where they deserve to be. They really should only have 1 loss (we all know that they got screwed by the PAC-10) and their one loss came to a solid Texas team...(not lowly Kstate) so in my mind they should be top 10.

Three weeks ago I would have put Texas in the top 5-6 in the country but they have played bad the last three weeks, thus they drop. It is not ut's prerogative to always be in the top 10 despite what some of you might think. Heck, ut is ranked so high pre-season every year that they have to lose 3 games to not get into a BCS game....ridiculous.

looks good but the only problem is LSU and arkansas play in two weeks so arkansas would be behind lsu if they lost or lsu would be out of the top 10 if they won. plus, why do you have to hate on Jamarcus? yeah he makes some of the dumbest plays i have ever seen but he also makes some greats ones. the guy has the most 4th quarter or overtime combacks of any qb in the country.
