At this point, none of the top 3 are worth trading up for.I really don't favor moving up. Just let the draft come to you and select the BPA. Pretty sure the BPA will fill a Texans need.
Too many holes to be spending extra draft capital on any single player.
We're not there yet. That's my expert opinion.

One option is to send #33 to NE for Mac Jones.
You then have the luxury of keeping those two valuable firsts resulting in Will Anderson and probably Quentin Johnson.
Everyone is spouting BS now, I think the Texans are doing a good job making people who want WA or CJ think about trading up. Worse case, they turn down deals that are not good enough. Heck, they may like Wilson at Edge and Hooker, so lie as long as possible to get the deal you want. If no good deal, we need QB, EDGE, WR at premium picks so would suggest they get Best at each they desire. More fun than having the first pick where everything is known. These guys are all a crap shoot and risk management process anyway. We need to do better than last year on the first rounders though. I get those guys may look better this year, but should hit on 60% of these 1st roundersLooks like Doc and a number of others will likely get their way and won't have to deal with Tiny Tim tearing up defenses here. He'll ball out in Carolina.
Apparently, they don't like CJ enough to take him at two. We'll likely continue to be in QB purgatory unless we pull of a trade for Mac Jones, or get lucky elsewhere in the draft.
Yeah, I am interested in negotiating with Doc over a list of what i want like a new speed boat. If he gets his way, there will be a long line bearing him gold, incense and myrrh. I want to be at front of the line.Looks like Doc and a number of others will likely get their way and won't have to deal with Tiny Tim tearing up defenses here. He'll ball out in Carolina.

These are the same guys that have Levis ranked ahead of Stroud, and Richardson right behind him. They had Malik Willis as the #1 QB last year (#30 overall). They had Stingley (#2) over Sauce (#4).
I agree with everything Wilson said except for Njigba at #12. I don't think any WR in this draft is worth the twelfth pick. If they stay at 12 I'd prefer them drafting BPA. If that means another defensive guy to go along with WA, then that's fine, they can use the help.
Again no one in the organization said anything about not liking CJ. Several people like Locker, Seth and Pancakes said nobody is leaking any information. So why are we believing in what some of theee folks are spreading.Looks like Doc and a number of others will likely get their way and won't have to deal with Tiny Tim tearing up defenses here. A shock pick at #12 would be Peter Skoronski.I agree with everything Wilson said except for Njigba at #12. I don't think any WR in this draft is worth the twelfth pick. If they stay at 12 I'd prefer them drafting BPA. If that means another defensive guy to go along with WA, then that's fine, they can use the help.
I don't think Hooker will be drafted in the first round. I think if they like him they'll be able to get him somewhere in the second round. If they miss out on him too, that's the way the cookie crumbles. Draft one of the third-tier guys late.
I just don't want the Texans to reach for a QB or WR in a draft like this.
That’s what they you to believe because they’re not getting any information out of Houston. Who told you their plans? Really who in the organization told them their plans?Too much smoke brother. There's got to be a fire somewhere. And it also jives with what Corrosion said...summarizing...he said that the Texans love one QB at 2, and if he isn't there, they are most likely to go another direction. I think we know who the guy they love is, and it's not CJ.
I don't know what his connection to the Texans is, but he's given some inside insight in the past so I don't take what he says lightly. It's not impossible it's all a big bluff - this is "lion" season after all, so I'm not about to say it's Young or bust, but the tea leaves I'm seeing would certainly indicate there's something to these rumors.
At the very least, don't be shocked if they pass on CJ if Young goes to Carolina. Personally, if they don't like CJ enough at 2, I'm all about trading down to collect some pieces that Nick can move around the chessboard. Unlike Banned above, IF (big if) Hooker is their next guy after Young, I'm not diddling around and letting someone else snatch him. I'll do my best to trade out of 2 and/or 12 - and use that extra piece or two I get to move up for a 3rd first rounder - Mr. Hooker here we go.
So many now think Young is #1 and headed for Charlotte huh ?Looks like Doc and a number of others will likely get their way and won't have to deal with Tiny Tim tearing up defenses here. He'll ball out in Carolina.

They aren’t sold on Stroud. And that’s okay.
Lol some of you will be upset if Bryce goes 1 and the Texans don’t pick Stroud. That’s what they you to believe because they’re not getting any information out of Houston. Who told you their plans? Really who in the organization told them their plans?
Good call. Man, that run game…A shock pick at #12 would be Peter Skoronski.
He can play Center.
Like I said a thousand times on here it’s not that serious. I will pull for whoever they draft.Lol some of you will be upset if Bryce goes 1 and the Texans don’t pick Stroud.
Lol exactly. These some jokers saying they don’t want him will be on here killing NC for passing in CJ.I know one thing for sure. If the Texans pass on Stroud, and the Colts grab him and he pops, we will never hear the end of it.
Yep, same wash, rinse and repeat info. They never talk about CJ who never threw passes at or behind the los. Its like a big pile on to get him to drop to somewhere else. 610 always brings up how Shanny passed on Mahomes and Watson and drafted Solomon Thomas which was a mistake. Does people forget when people were calling Thomas the next Warren Sapp? Imagine if Shanny would've drafted Mahomes or pre legal Watson. He wouldn't have had to trade for Jimmy or Trey Lance. Kyle would have the rings vs Andy. I'm not comparing Stroud to Mahomes, I'm saying if you're wrong and Strouds turns out to be a top 5-7 qb, the team is going to suffern and Ryans rope is going to get shorter. There is a talent reason why Shanny moved up to get Lance. He wanted someone who can threaten every blade of grass with his arm and legs.Again no one in the organization said anything about not liking CJ. Several people like Locker, Seth and Pancakes said nobody is leaking any information. So why are we believing in what some of theee folks are spreading.
Skoronski would certainly be accepted by those who want to build the trenches first and he is a awesome player for all positions. Only issue, good centers should be there round 3 and why i would be shocked.A shock pick at #12 would be Peter Skoronski.

How many resources are the Texans going to allocate to the oline?Skoronski would certainly be accepted by those who want to build the trenches first and he is a awesome player for all positions. Only issue, good centers should be there round 3 and why i would be shocked.
To protect your franchise quarterback? As much as it takes! How many resources are the Texans going to allocate to the oline?
I know one thing for sure. If the Texans pass on Stroud, and the Colts grab him and he pops, we will never hear the end of it.
What if Colts take AR at 4?I know one thing for sure. If the Texans pass on Stroud, and the Colts grab him and he pops, we will never hear the end of it.
Don't think there is a top 5 in NFL QB in this draft or maybe not 2024 either.
"Texans are split in the building on Stroud; if they don't pick him, don't think they pick another QB. They kick the can down the road or trade for Mac Jones. Won't be able to get up to 1 even if Carolina offered the pick. Only way Texans will get Bryce what he has been told is if Bryce flat out says he's not playing for Carolina which won't happen"
Go back and read the articles about how the performance under pressure with Stroud is bogus.I would bet a large amount of money if Levis or Richardson had played for OSU people would be wanting them as the #1 pick. Everyone points out Stroud's good points. They don't talk about his amazing OL and WR and how he was one of the worst QB's under pressure. He had one good game under pressure. A game he had over 1 month to prepare for. Young is the only QB I would take at #2 and I don't really want him, but he has shows he can move under duress and still complete the pass, but we have never seen him operate under center due to Alabama's offense. If he had Russell or Kyler's FRAME I would be okay with him.

Where does coaching come into it. Look at the best o-line in Texans history which was good. 1 st rd pick project, a 3rd rd tackle, a 5th rd center, a low cost free agent and another low rd pick. What the had in common was that they were like a well oiled machine. Its about working as a unit with the talent. How many 1st rd picks on the sb champions did they have? You can't keep throwing resources and high picks at 5 guys or you're short changing the rest of the team.To protect your franchise quarterback? As much as it takes!
When and if Watson get back on track, he's as good as Burrows,Lawrence and Herbert. All those year in Houston, he had Hopkins as a weapon whereas Burrow and Herbert has 2 or 3 weapons plus a run game to boot. In the Afc alone, you need at least a top 10 guy to be in the conversation or you're wasting your time because in the end, its going to come down to that guy.And for me, it is nothing to do with the guys not being really good...it is that hard to crack the top 5.
AFC only top tier
Mahomes, Allen, Burrows
Young and fairly close
Herbert, Lawerence
Murky situation
L. Jackson Rodgers
Have cosplayed top QBs at times
Tua, Watson
You mean everyone not including the thousands of people who are?Everyone points out Stroud's good points. They don't talk about his amazing OL and WR and how he was one of the worst QB's under pressure.
As for the O'Line, I'd take 2-3 IOL. Preferably, all centers that can play guard as well. In a perfect world, I'd draft two of Schmitz, Mauch, Avila, Tippman & Stromberg. Just two of them would give me a starting center, a backup center & guard depth.
I don't believe that. This team needs to keep taking QBs early and often until they get it right. It's the surest path to a SB.
