2023 Senior Bowl

Remember losing my **** day 2 of draft in 2021 (Texans 3rd rd picks already made) for Chargers with Meinerz still on the board when they selected Josh Palmer. I mean I went off…. but he was still on the board later 3rd when Chargers had 2nd 3rd, Meinerz right there for the taking, Chargers select Trey McKitty TE next pick 98th overall, Denver Broncos Quinn Meinerz. Rest is history, right side of Chargers line collapsed, losing two starters beginning of season. McKitty looks like a bust and Palmer only flashes. So I get it.
Say, that reminds me. Some of the same people saying Mills was the right pick are now saying it's time to move on & Center is one of the top needs.

I'm not saying that. But... it's what I hear.

Difference is Chargers had their franchise QB. If Texans hadn’t drafted Mills they essentially had no QB. I knew Tyrod couldn’t stay healthy, red flag medical, don’t see much choice other than being proactive to move up (everything else is hindsight) was below average draft class, depth wise and Mills has done plenty to earn on investment.

So all this happened before the season. We were in rebuild mode. Bunch of jags waiting to get picked up & "bridge" you to better days.

Spend that draft pick on a "bridge" QB just doesn't make sense unless the guy is Russell Wilson/Dak Prescott special.

Use a 6th round pick to get your bridge QB. Not your most valuable draft pick.

Isn't C.Harris our WILL? then we've got Wallow.

Hanson/Cashman on the strongside seems to demand more attention.

Ok... I get it. I'm looking more at need.

If we were to get this guy, what would we do with him? Does that move Harris to MIKE? I know Kirksey doesn't have many fans here, but is Harris a MIKE LB?
We could use him as a nickel or box safety

QB Jake Haener looking good so far. Northwestern RB Evan Hull has had some nice runs. North Dakota State OT Cody Mauch is playing LG, and has looked pretty good so far.

Haener threw a TD pass that was called back because of offensive pass interference.

UH QB Clayton Tune starting off well. He's completed passed to TE Latu, RB Spears, and WR Mingo. Mingo is one of the WR's I'm interested in later. The offensive lines for both teams have looked good on the 1st drives. OU RB Gray has looked good catching the ball on the 1st drive.

Penalties have stopped both first drives.

Haener with two bad throws in a row. He was feeling pressure, and had happy feet. Possibly because he's not fully recovered from his injury. He's having to get shots and stem cell treatment to be able to play in this game.

Louisville QB Malik Cunningham looks like a rusher only so far. He's looking to run right away.
Cunningham has made a couple decent throws, but he runs too much. If he want's a job in the NFL, he needs to show that he can be a passer first.

Max Duggan is having a rough day. As least he showed up to compete. That is a plus in my book.

Cody Mauch just seems to look good no matter where he plays. He may not make it out of the 1st round.

I'm thinking a team like the Bengals or Bills may pick him at the bottom of the 1st. He's really impressed me. 2-33?

Other guys who've impressed me in this game, TE Mallory and S Scott.

Bagent got baited, and was picked, but it was out of bounds. He's not used to playing against that level of talent.

I'd gladly take him @ 2.34, and try to get Schmitz in the 3rd, or Oluwatimi later.

I edited my post, It's actually 2-33.

After this week I'm thinking I would pick him at 2-32 and put him at center. He's a 10 yr starter. IMHO

Chase Brown and Hull are the best RB's at this game.

Ward from LSU has had a good game.

Jake Andrews too.
