Texas Showdown! Texans @ Cowboys

Green was still playing injured (chest) despite the fact that he was not on the Injury Report. Then he suffered an ankle injury against the Cowboys.
Im aware. most players are playing wit some type of injury/injuries this late in the year. It’s no excuse to get pushed around like he’s been. I was happy with the pick. I thought and still do think it was a good and necessary pick. Just right now it’s looking like it might be a miss. Only time will tell for sure.

He's essentially been playing without a left arm,........hard not to be pushed around.

Thats on the coaches and the GM. Regardless, until he stops getting Pushed around he’s looking like a miss. He hasn’t had a good game all year that I can remember. Hes pretty much been on skates all year.

Interesting quote from Mike McCarthy about Lovie's defense:

Smith is known for his Tampa 2 scheme, but McCarthy told reporters after the Cowboys’ 27-23 win over the Texans at AT&T Stadium in Arlington that Smith was running something else on Sunday afternoon.

“As far as the type of coverages, it’s more quarters than I’ve ever Lovie play,” McCarthy said. “Lot of combinations to that.” McCarthy explained that Smith excels as a “vision defensive coordinator.” Said McCarthy: “I thought they played with good vision, and they were on our hip every time the ball was thrown and caught.”

No reason to play Pierce unless he's 100% healthy.
yep agree If he doesn't play then seeing Dare and Eno play see what they can do as next man up. Not a big Burkhead fan here.
Rotoworld opinion continues to say ...
Smith was also quoted as saying, "It will take an awful lot for him to not play." While an encouraging sentiment, we can't ignore the fact that Pierce exited Sunday's loss to the Cowboys and was sidelined for almost the entire fourth quarter. If he's unable to go next week against the Chiefs, the Texans could mix in Dare Ogunbowale, Eno Benjamin and Rex Burkhead, who all saw touches yesterday with Pierce sidelined. Any of these options will be hard to trust for fantasy purposes if Pierce is ultimately sidelined.

Please, don’t let facts get in the way of Texans fans creating another reason to be depressed.
Everybody's injured this time of year. Not to minimize the new ankle injury, but the pec...

Everybody's hurt this time of year

They did up until that final 98 yard drive

Right but unless it's going to hurt him further, even injured he's better than his backup
He’s hurting his team is the point I’m trying to make here. Yes Lovie said he’s better but honestly do we know? Put the backup in for at least 2 games and then we could judge.

True, but what is there to gain by leaving him in at this point. For right now, he is 1 of the 2 or 3 at the max who are not expendable on offense. Shut him down...

makes sense that he was playing something a bit more different than his Tampa 2. Passes were being contested in much tighter windows, Pitre in particular was flying around, Kirksey was more in position on his drops and nearly knocked down 2 of Dak's passes over the middle. There APPEARED to be more blitzing..Harris came on 1 early that forced an errant pass from Dak.......... Overall, it just seemed like the players were playing down hill and were much more aggressive.

Long season and running backs take a pounding every game so relying on just one is not smart. I am on the band wagon to get Dijan Robenson with 1B and make our backfield the terror of the NFL.

A back that should be getting action behind DP. Nick and Lovie botched on this one.

Mack is only getting run b/c he's not the main guy...& b/c he plays with Mahomes and co. Here he'd probably be hurt like he's been all his career..... or not making any kind of impact or difference like he did as a back up to Taylor in Indy last year.

Would have been nice to have a decent backup RB. Especially, when Pierce went out. Anyone see Marlon Mack?

"I don't know what you're trying to prove, Burkhead is a threat to take to the house every time he touches the ball! Way more versatile than Mack, and he's uh shifty in a sneaky way. We definitely made the correct choice, the goal is to win the battle 1.5 yards at a time."

signed,
Pep (probably)
