Lonnie Johnson…he gone

Jesus Christ, looked it up and totally forgot/didn't realize we even spent a 2nd round pick on Lonnie Johnson.. let alone the compensation 2nd rounder we got for the Duane Brown trade. Damn, that was bad.

Texans, "Hold my beer and watch this" with the Hopkins trade. 😆

Yep. Good measurables though! Contrast that to this year’s second round DB Jalen Pitre who may lack the size/length but is plenty athletic, has an off the charts football iq, and most important of all… was PRODUCTIVE with multiple accolades. Get a guy with a history of success playing football instead of projecting measurables to justify his relatively limited success. What a novel concept with your day 1 and day 2 picks!

Lonnie needs to come to Camp determined to earn that 1.2 million dollars and another season of 70 tackles and three ints would not hurt his future.

You may say I’m a dreamer but I’m not the only one
Lonnie is one of those guys where he’s done nothing for us and was about to do more of the same.

Sneaking suspicion he could go to the Chiefs and make it look like the Texans made a huge mistake here. Hope we all remember just how crap he has played throughout. Always seemed to be him chasing behind the receiver after getting beat on the big highlight plays.

Agreed he sucks, but he will likely have a ring before any of our best players.

That said, would have preferred a 7th next season... but meh.
The worst one was Jacoby Jones..

Honestly, He could've easily won SB MVP (I think he should have). Complete mistake prone knucklehead who would make a great play for every 3 to 4 team killing plays. Yet, he put it all together on the biggest stage. I was so pissed off (He cost us the playoff game against the Ravens the year before). He ran like Chuck Hayes shot free throws, but hey it worked. He sure was slippery, crazy legs.

That's just it, it's a CONDITIONAL trade AND the pick is in 2024 not 2023.

So, the guy goes to the Chiefs who kick the tires and if he doesn't end up on the team, we lose nothing. And if he does make the team and play, then we lose a 7th round pick two years from now.

I know WHY it's 2 seasons away. Id just prefer the pick next season.

Hard enough to care about a 7th rounder one season away even less when its two.

A conditional 7th round pick two drafts from now seems like an insult to me.
Like most of Nick's player trades, it's more for benefit of the player.

Lonnie is in a good situation now & cost KC next to nothing. Texans probably get nothing if LJ doesn't make the team

He was going to get cut for nothing.. let's wait until Caserio actually has a player of value to trade before we judge him on trades. I bet he would've gotten more than a washed David Johnson for Hopkins.

Oh wait, he had a sexual predator to deal with.. and won that trade.

I remember GB wanted Cobb. Their QB gave them an ultimatum. New Orleans was desperate & asked for Ingram.

Nick could have chosen to turn the screws, or simply say no. He didn't. He generously traded both away.

Yeah he could've turned the screws (would only be screwing himself), said no, and would've been left with peter in hand.. instead He chose to get something for nothing.
