How will Texans do in draft?

Dont you just love it when some posters say picking a guy like Anderson at 37 is way to high because the pundits say so. Then when they disagree with the pundits you get posts like, well that's one POV. LMAO, hypocrisy at its finest.
The only time I pull the “unrealistic” card is when you can’t find a mock draft or simulator with that player anywhere near that spot. You can find Anderson mocked early 2nd and his traits say he’s talented enough to be drafted in that range.

But Zion in the 3rd like someone posted the other day? Nobody has that unless you’re personally picking for all 32 teams in a sim haha

I wouldn't be opposed to combining a 68 and 107 to move up into the 2nd if there was a guy available that I thought was a difference maker.

Same goes with #37, I would trade say #37 and #80 to move up to say #24 with Dallas and pick Kenyon Green.
The time has come for you to face reality. Right now the Texans need to do (2) things, stop giving away current and future draft picks and start maximizing and increasing the number of drafts picks they do have. Do you realize that the Texans only have 25 players under contract in 2023 and ONLY 7 under contract in 2024. They do not have an OT under contract in 2024. These one-year contracts are killing this team. What the Texans really need to do is start putting 8 to 10 people under (4) and (5) year contracts every year for the next (4) years. And this has absolutely nothing to do with the salary cap so don't even try to go there.

I'm sure Caserio will do this.

Give me one great player and if I have to add a couple of UDFA's to the bottom of the roster as ST's guys to fill out the roster I'm good with this.

this comment is right on as we need to get off of soft foundation and build a on a solid foundation

Well, the File Clerk started Draft Week by doing the complete opposite. One thing that Belichick knows very well is that if you're lucky, you may hit on half of your draft picks. Therefore it is important to garner as many draft picks as you can. The greater number of draft picks improves your chances of the number of players who can make and improve your team. That's Jimmy Johnson 101, chapter 1. In the Jimmy Johnson and Bill Belichick school of drafting in the NFL, using 8 picks in the current draft and 2 picks from a future draft to draft only 5 players earns an F- and gets you kicked out of school.

Apparently, this important information was lost on the File Clerk during his time in New England. I really hope that the professor taking advantage of the intern file clerk yesterday is not a precursor to the 2022 draft. Maybe the Intern File Clerk is dyslexic with a severe case of ADHD to go with his dyslexia and that is why he does everything bassackwards and is prone to massive FUBAR and SNAFU mistakes.

Is the handwriting already on the wall for the 2022 draft?

New England gained a 7th rd pick. The world is ending.

Give me a quality RB in the 5th, or use #108 and the 5th to trade up into the top 100 where you might actually find a difference maker.

Particularly in this deep class you can find an UDFA that will be as good as pick 245.

I remember a time when the draft was 14 rds and plenty of great players were found in those rds. Remember Billy White Shoes Johnson, Steve Largest etc...

Just gotta do the work.

This is the same quality over quantity debate.

Except the greater quantity produces more quality. That's how it works in the NFL draft. Remember, history has shown you'll be lucky if 50% of your draft picks will make it in the NFL. You're assuming that all of your picks will be perennial pro-bowlers.

Gotta do the work, but the higher the pick the greater chance for success.

I'm not assuming that at all.

Sign another UDFA, same thing as this level of draft pick. Hating to hate. Now if it was 2nd's and thirds we are talking about, then a good debate can be had, but giving up a 7th means just getting a UDFA and if needed to sign him kick some extra cash

Last time I was on the Kemah pier, years ago we witnessed a boat exploding out in the bay. I think someone may have even died. Had my first “Roy Rogers” at Jimmie Walkers…I think that was the name. Loved Topwater grill in San Leon and the old Pirate’s Cove bar there before a hurricane got it.

Long time ago.. can you narrow down year of boat exploding? I don’t remember that. Got engaged at Walker's, she was a well known lady back in 50s and 60s.

Did you hear about the Boatus captain that went overboard in Clear Lake and parked boat in someone's yard? Or the small plane upside down in Clear Lake in 2021.

I tried to google it and it may be the one in 2010 because it was at night and probably would have been a Saturday but for some reason I’m thinking it was earlier than that but maybe not. I didn’t hear about those other incidents. Wow.

It doesn't matter about the media C- because you will be drunk on the Kool Aid celebrating the magnificent FUBAR.
I don't know about that. I don't even know anything about any of the prospects. But I will be excited if go OL early and often.

My comment about the C- is a jab at all the pundits who rush to sum up the draft grades for each club, whenever everybody knows we won't truly know the results for a year or two.

Can we at least see what Nick does before calling it a fubar? I am a nick critic to large extent but I will wait and see before calling it a failure. Trading a 7th and using that to say he doesn't value picks is like dumping Rosie O’Donnel and being accused of not valuing good looking women.

The 7th round and UDFA signings are pretty much training camp fodder. You can pretty much sign just as good a player as an UDFA after the 7th round as you can IN the 7th round. To me, we traded a 6th round pick for a 5th round pick.

BUENO!
Johnny Unitas was something like a 19th rd pick.

I had him in my 1955 mock draft going 1st overall that year when I turned it in..... In 1980.

In recent times some years you could almost put an entire draft together with players signed after the draft ended in 7 rounds. I mean, James Harrison (LB), Brandon Moore (OG), Ryan Clark (S), Eddie Drummond (WR), Billy Cundiff (K), and Bart Scott (LB) all were signed undrafted in 2002. I'd take them all over the first 6 picks in our "haul" that year with the exception of Chester Pitts of course. Always going to have a soft spot for Chester and his oboe.

In 2003 I'd give up everything after Andre Johnson to be able to sign Tony Romo and Antonio Gates! Clearly this is an inexact science at best.

I’ve just realised how offended I am that you of all people would have a pop at me for an unrealistic trade scenario! 😂
? I made no inference to your comments just asked you to respond to thread title choosing one of four options. I don’t ridicule others mocks nor did I yours. See no reason for you to be offended but apologize any way.
