2022 NFL Scouting Combine: Invited prospects, by position

Evan Neal, Matt Corral, Derek Stingley, and Jeremy Ruckert will not participate at the Combine.

had already moved off Evan to Ikem before the Combine, this only solidified decision. Ekwonu workout will check all the boxes you see in his tape and really separate himself from the pack.

Stingley is understandable coming off injury. Not sure if Ruckert was hurt Senior Bowl week or not, but that maybe his excuse.

After oKoye, I'm off of drafting Nigerians with high draft picks.

Ruckert did get hurt at the Sr Bowl. Can't remember what he hurt but he didn't play in the game.

Why eliminate an entire talent pool because of one bad experience? One of if not my favorite players in the whole 2022 draft class is Nigerian, Boya Mafe, 6-4 260 edge. Should be in Texan #37 cluster.

I try to learn from my mistakes. Hopefully the Texans do too.

Let's see, Ikwonu is from a family of Nigerian doctors, does that ring a bell when it comes to oKoye? If you want an OT and can't draft Neal then just pick Cross and be done with it. Less risk involved.

If you pass on guys from Nigeria, you really aren't passing on a great number of players. I like Mafe_ alot too but I would have to see his background before I even considered drafting him. Odds of wasting a high draft pick are high, despite Mafe's obvious talent. Mow in the 3rd/4th Rd it would be worth the risk. Because the draft capital and money invested wouldn't be as great.

Nick Caserio at the combine.

what's so hard about miking the audience?
I just finished watching the Caserio presser and interview. I'm going to say WOW. I thought Nick did a very good job from the Combine podium. I was impressed. Clearly Caserio is more relaxed when he is in his element. By that I mean being the table setter, the administrator, not the manager. Nick is not a manager, he was clearly in over his head and he was uncomfortable in that position. It clearly showed. Today acting as the administrator that he is Nick was comfortable and was able to articulate and answer questions well.

When Nick is talking scouting players, Combine, mechanics and technicals he knows his stuff and does a good job of talking the talk. Nick clearly cedes authority to Lovie. All the accolades aside, questions do remain. Nick is not general manager material. The Patriot drafts over the last decade with Nick in charge of preparation were some of the Patriots most disappointing. He could do much better working with Lovie.

Skyy Moore is 5-10 @ 195 lbs…10.25” Hands and potentially 4.2 to 4.3-40 speed. If he held that speed at 200 to 210 lbs, he’d be a beast as a Slot WR. He could be a better version of the Steelers SWR- Hines Ward (6-0 @ 205 lbs) b/c of his over the top speed. It appears the Steelers also have him high on their list as well.

Moore went to HS with Mike Tomlin's son. Moore was the QB, Tomlin's son was the WR.

Where is the 4.2 - 4.3 speed coming from? Doesn't show on the field. Moore is fearless over the middle, though.

I think his measurables we're 6'0 190 and it's expected that he runs in the 4.4's.

I would consider him in the mid- late 2nd. He's a weapon. Definitely on the radar at 68.

Moore made his case to be late 1st to early 2nd. 4.41 forty 35.4” vertical 10’5” BJ. In the #37 cluster :wesmantexanfan:

I would love to see Caserio give Mills a Weapon like Moore at #37 and then come back at 67 and draft Dulich. Weapons like Cooks/Moore/Collins/Dulcich would really help Mills development. if Caserio could manage to draft these guys and draft a guy like Strange at #80 the offense would be much better.

I fully expect Caserio/Lovie to draft defense early and often.

What site did you get the Combine #'s from?

Man the WR group has some talent! I’m excited to see who we grab. There is so much depth in both the WR/TE groups that we’re going to be able to draft some value.
I agree. I also agree with NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah that the WR depth will actually hurt the WRs in this draft. Teams can wait on WR knowing there will be another good prospect when their next pick comes around. I think the Texans will be able to find a receiver that can help them at #80, maybe even at #135.

Quick thoughts on today's combine:

OL
Most of the top guys looked the part (Icky, Cross, Zion). One exception was Kenyon Green, whose body and drills looked sloppy. Didn't seem like he prepared for this.

Guy I didn't know much about was Zach Tom. Seemed very athletic in the 40 and drills. Someone to take a harder look at.

I don't think Trevor Penning is the best OT in this class. I just want him on my team.

RB
Hall and Walker are the top guys and performed like it. They will not get out of the top 40 picks.

If I were to go RB by committee, Brian Robinson and James Cook would be my picks.

The talking heads keep saying you can find gems from this class on the 3rd day. Not that convinced. There are only about 5 or 6 guys I could get excited about.

Those talking heads, toss the word "GEMS" around pretty carelessly ! However, when you're talent needs are as great as ours, it increases your possible targets more than on most teams. I just finished watching 8 hours of combine. The kids this year are prepared light years ahead of any other year .... we need picks .... lots more picks !!! Somebody quick .... sell the farm !!!

I cant wait to see Gordon the other Husky CB. I think he's going to light it up. Woolen/Goodrich are other CB's I'm keeping an eye on. I expect Woolen to be a top tester.

DE class - hutch & Kayvon head to head

chargers - Jermaine Johnson & Trevon Walker

CB class - Sauce for sure, want to see what all the hype is about. If he tests out, could be in conversation for Texans.

chargers - McDuffie, Gordon & Booth

Add to that list I want to see are the Texas A&M boys; DeMarvin Leal and Leon O'Neal

Looking at the WR's unofficial times, the top 10 are all under 4.4. This is a fast class. The Texans should be able to pick up a WR in the 3rd round.

There's going to be some good talent late on the 2nd day, which is why I like trading back from 1/3 to get as many picks in the top 100 as possible.
