Texans random thought of the day

Mental health disorders can be managed effectively with the right medications and therapy. If mental health professionals are working with him now, I’m optimistic in Brown being able to return to the league sooner rather than later. The legal issue regarding the rape allegation is the biggest hurdle concerning AB returning to the NFL.

Now if Brown has a substance use disorder (the truck driver claims Brown was “high” on something) comorbid with another mental health disorder(s) and it falls under the severe category all bets are off.
I am very familiar with mental health disorders and their prognoses (as I know you are). As part of my early training, I spent 6 months assigned to a lockdown section for the criminally insane in a federal prison. And you are no doubt correct, except the qualifier that should be added is "many mental health disorders can be managed effectively." While many others are difficult or impossible to effectively manage.

For at least 2 years, I have received reliable information that Brown has refused voluntary evaluation/treatment for both his mental health issues AND KNOWN substance abuse...........one of the main reasons his agent Drew Rosenhaus finally dropped his client.

His known issues go way beyond his January tweet.

As I am sure you know, even if medication and therapy can be effective, a significant number of those that seem to be successfully responding for a period of time decide for one reason or another to discontinue their regimens..........with very predictable results. Based on all that I know, I don't see Brown as realistically having a promising outcome, especially in the long term.

I actually based my prediction on past history of owners who have died and pass ownership of the team to their children, particularly where a number of other siblings are involved. There are 4 McNair siblings. Other siblings not involved in the day to day operations usually begin to get restless after 3 to 4 years. Especially when the team experiences an embarrassing decline which commonly happens. The return on their inheritance from the team operations is not anything close to what it be from their share if the team is sold. They may receive a small yearly stipend of a couple of million of dollars as a part owner BUT if they sold their return could be a BILLION Dollars and that is the reason why siblings push to sell the team they inherited. It all boils down to basic human behavior.
There's not a safer inverstment than an NFL team. If one of the part owners needs cash for another investment, they can use their equity in the team for a low interest loan. Which owners often do. If there are family members that want out entirely, those that wish to stay in can easily buy the others out. After his mother passes, this is what I expect Cal to do. And finally, all of this may be fleshed out in Bob and Janice's wills. Neither of us know. But I trust my Delorean more than yours, Biff.

Lol why would Watson give up 1/3 of his new contract. Man y’all come up with the best jokes ever. Hilarious

So since Brady wants him too should he do the same?
What's ridiculous is that you would take that as serious.
I did not take any freaking thing serious thus the LOL. You’re the one that’s in his feelings by the way you just responded. Amazing on how some of y’all so quickly to take this here and for what.

Agreed on all points you made, and specifically the correction

It’s my intention to work for TDCJ, with the population you worked with for those 6 months. I’d be interested to learn more about your time working in the federal prison system.

On Brown, I really don’t know what his future looks like. What he has shown to the public, it doesn’t look promising. You’re probably right about that.

Keep being you @steelbtexan. The jerry Springer show would not have been a success without controversy. I don't agree with everything you say but I find crumbs of truth in a lot of it.

That’s not a lot of crumbs. And it’s mainly his delivery and hatred towards Watson. Other than that he actually could be a good dude.

I manage and organize the efforts of over a 120 people. I'll tell you honestly, I dont want co managers or ,"sub" bosses telling me what I want to hear. I want people identifying what's wrong so I can address it.

@steelbtexan is the kinda guy who does that in spades.

@steelbtexan I'm not sure if @JB is the kinda guy I'd hang out with. I imagine he's loud, likeable, and robust. I picture a happy drunk Hemingway. Dude's probably shot a couple of lions.

That's not fair maybe. @JB is probably cool as hell. Having someone loud and assertive could be a good thing.

We need a 4th and 5th member for our safari.

Except those siblings don't have any ownership of this team - Janice is the majority owner.

Minority owners are

Kirbyjon H. Caldwell
Mary Anne Dingus
Charles W. Duncan III
Harry Gee Jr.
Javier Loya
Kay M. Onstead
Gary R. Petersen
Fayez Sarofim
Joseph W. Sutton

Philip Burguieres was a minority owner but has passed away and I'm not positive who his share went to.

Cal may be the chairman & CEO but he's not an "owner" in title.

I think JB is a laid back type of dude who every so often will say some slick stuff. So you will have to be on your toes around him.

Steel seems to be the loud one who after a dozen brews might be outlandish and crazy at times.

You guys make up your minds about people. He doesn't agree with everything but he isnt loud about it. Very diplomatic. We still need a 4th and 5th poster for our hunt.

Bro I’m going off of his many rants or tantrums when people doesn’t agree with him. I’m pretty sure he thinks the same about me.

Santo or Earl can be that 5th poster. Both of them are some really cool gents. I can hang out with them, you and Rico.

Tantrums, Rants? LMAO, Just because I point out the excuses some make for DW4's poor play and the cap issue he's about to doom the franchise with doesn't equal a tantrum/rant. In fact I've pointed out several times how some posters may be a little over invested in the DW4 train.

Alright, here's what's what. Were going to skip all the safari business because a cheap hunt costs roughly 80k and frankly we'd all be eaten by lion or stampeded by cape buffalo.

What I'm looking for instead is a 4 - 5 man south Texas white tail hunt.

1st annual. Who wants it?

I'm probably the quietest drunken introvert you ever met

Maybe when you do say things they sound louder because of their virtue? Your a quiet drunk? Me to. Mostly.

@JB are you on board for a hunt?

Would love it

F'ing excellent.

I'm down. I think @steelbtexan is. We need a couple more.

I'd like to tell you I'm a macho bastard good at skinning deer. I'm not. I can do it but it's slow and ugly. I'm looking for the kind of place that does it for you.

Ok.

South Texas deer hunt. Jbs in. SteeleB. Me.

Who else?

I’m burnt out on driving. I’ve been in this oilfield for 10 years now. For the past two years of commuting back and forth from Houston to West Texas has a brother out of there. I was actually glad when my last employer laid me off a few months ago. Needed the break, so no I’m not traveling over an hour away. Lol

Bad news but doesn't pertain to hunt...

I haven’t been able to drive since the end of May. I had an accident and pushed two disc out of my cervical vertebrae into my spinal cord. Required surgery and two months in a neck brace. Can’t drive until I’m out of my collar. That’s why y’all didn’t read anything from the first two weeks or so of June...

And I don’t hunt or drink. In case anyone was wondering/hoping. Sorry everybody.

Dang banned, man I’m glad you’re in good spirits and still here with the land of the living. Going through surgery is always a big risk so thanks be to God you didn’t have any complications. I’m praying for a full speedy recovery.
