Hopkins traded to Cardinals?

I'm convinced, the Texans are the "Indians" from Major League.

Our owner wants to move the team but has to nose dive attendance.

Of course "friction" is the reason. Perhaps Bill's communication skills suck? I'll try to speak to this in Bill's language "Bill you effin suck at being a GM. You effin suck as a play caller and you suck as a leader."

I have never given up on a team before but Bill and Cal leave me no choice. Eff this franchise and wasting so many years on this toilet franchise.

To those that are gonna continue to support this dumpster fire of a franchise, I wish you (and not Bill or Cal) well.

To those that are moving on to new teams like myself - my your new team never hire Bill O'Brien.

I wonder if this is like Clowney, in that Nuk didn't practice hard enough for O'Brien.
He was probably complaining too much that he was constantly being covered. OB got upset and decided to get a RB to continue his "run up the middle" offense.

I don't give a crap about the NFL in general, only the Texans, so I can't really get behind another team. Looks like my fall and winter Sundays will be free for a while.

Maybe I will follow the Roughnecks should the XFL survive, but swapping my allegiance to another NFL team? Yeah, no....not happening. The NFL will stop existing for me when I decide to tune out the Texans.

In BOb’s infinite wisdom he designed an offense around the most brittle WR and trades away one of the leagues best WRs for an oft-injured RB.

This is one strange timeline. All the grumbling from players that recently left this franchise are obviously true. Texans are a disaster on the field and in the board room.

This just made negotiations for DW's next contract infinitely more interesting..

I'd refuse to sign a new contract if I were him. Knowing full well, they'll just tag him for the amount of time they can use that option, and then leave for a team who actually looks like they care to win more than a Division Champion banner.

The only explanation I have is that the Astros paid OB to trade Hopkins to get Houston fans off of the cheating scandal.
:kitten:

Actually there is an explanation. The explanation is that OB is a dumbass moron unworthy of coaching in junior high.

This franchise has now hit rock bottom for me. That was one dumbass stupid trade. If they'd have gotten a 1st round pick in there somewhere, it might have made this a little easier to stomach.

No way in hell would I stay and end up taking the blame because my coach is the dumbest idiot in sports.

I applaud you for trying your best to make sense of this... but some things just aren't worth defending. Save yourself some typing.

Lol not trying to “ defend”...I absolutely hate this move more than any other move this franchise has ever made....

Unlike a lot of people on here though I’m just not knee jerk like that. Gotta see what is done in the draft and the rest of FA..then gotta see what this team looks like next year...

And what’s his pay? Heard it was $14M. Not where I can check.

He is going to be more of a cap hit than Nuk Hopkins would have been!!!

I really wish Cal McNair would have had the balls to fire O’Brien after the Kansas City massacre in the playoffs. This is the worst Houston sports trade in my lifetime (since 1983).
So you got to miss the Ed Biles era and are too young to really remember what an ass hat Jerry Glanville was.

The Texans gave up a top three wide receiver and their best offensive player for an injury-prone running back that the Cardinals considered releasing because he makes $10 million this season and a second-round pick. Whether you agree with trading Hopkins or not (I don’t), they got fleeced value wise. I’m sure there were teams willing to give at least one and maybe two first round picks for Hopkins.

Bill O’Brien has succeeded in weakening the Texans’ draft assets for this season and next along with the overall product on the field. It’s an amazing feat that many people couldn’t pull off.

Im eagerly waiting for the Pro OBrien Posse to come in here with all their excuses. This is unfathomable how the man has gutted a winning team in order to satisfy his need for control.

This idiot thought he would be cute and save 1 MILLION bucks by shipping off a fan favorite (Rick Smith Drafted) ALL PRO player for what?? Another reclamation project???

This is a travesty that spills over not only in the fan zone, but there is not one single business reason to have made this move. NONE.
look for DW4's reaction. he's pro obrien

True on both accounts. I do remember Buddy Ryan punching Kevin Gilbride on the sideline, the Oilers’ collapse in Buffalo and Bud Adams moving the team to Nashville.
