8-4 baby!
Whoda thunk it?
Texans were clearly the better side tonite. How nice to be able
to say that against this team?
Nervous moment at the end but we beat the freaking Patriots at last.
Yeah you can pick faults but we also had a TD disallowed as well.
I'll take this one all night long.
I'll open it up.

This was a HUGE team victory for the Texans, and even more huge for their playoff aspirations. Nobody believed in the Texans to beat the Patriots. And tonight a lot of people go to bed stunned!

Hello gents, Ravens fan here. Been a member a long time. I thought this was apart of the Texans official site, but I've been wrong before.

Anywhoooo, I'm glad to see a lot of you again and to see the Texans fairing well. I hope you guys get to full strength so we can see who is the better team at full strength. I am anticipating a dog fight which are my favorite.

And I can't wait to watch you guys stomp a mudhole in NE.
Ha, I'll try to pencil that in for ya.

Thank you. Honestly I think NE is about to skid. Their defense is not really all it was cracked up to be. It's easy to look like the 85 Bears or 2000 Ravens when you play Luke Falk, Sam Darnold, FitzTragic, Daniel Jones, Dwayne Haskins, and other crap dudes. Winning the game is fairly simple. Get LB's not named Jamie Collins in space and make them cover. Run slants and crosses to shake the man coverage, and have your QB buy time. If Lamar can do it so can Watson seeing as he has maybe the best receiver in the game to throw the 50/50 balls. Your TE's and RB's will feast.

On defense just attack. They are not that talented. Play man, and blitz. Honestly had we not fumbled twice on an average of our own 35. They get spanked 37-10. They are massively overrated and I think you guys bend them over too.

When NE runs into Watson, Mahomes, Wentz, and even Prescott they will get exposed.
I posted these a month ago, so I'm not surprised. Good job and thanks for making the playoffs go through the Bank.

NE loses next week and Baltimore can rest easy with some breathing room.

Patriots are getting ready for the playoffs. They're preparing for Baltimore and Kansas City in January.

BO'b needs to do the same. We still have a lot of things to fix in December. He needs to have the team forget what happened. Next time we see NE, Baltimore, or KC it's going to be a totally different game.

Watson was great
B'OB was great
RAC was great
Defense was great outside of slagging off on the last series (Hargave in particular, I see why he was cut)
This was a great win

There's a lot of football left to play so I hope we win out. Especially against a Titans team who's fans are starting to feel themselves.

Crazy season where we beat Mahomes and the Chiefs and Brady and the Patriots. I think this team has potential let's hope they finally get the consistency needed moving forward to be the powerhouse we know they can be

I thought Watson played well. But I'm sure there will be hundreds of posts this week pointing out that the Texans won in spite of his play and that he is not the QB for the long term or who can ever win against a good team, or in a big "prime time" type of situation. Sensible people will waste their time arguing with these ridiculous posts. But I won't, it was a great win - I'm out.

I'm a bit surprised about how high the ceiling for this team might actually be. It was by no means a perfectly played game, but some of the phases really left me excited by what might be possible. Yes, some of the usual failings were on display, but some amazing flashes on defense, and that second drive in particular was a thing of absolute beauty.

Take aways. I get the theme here week after week but there’s nothing new that hasn’t been said before.

We know this team is a contender with Watson obv. Idk whose still doubting him but good luck with that. The problem has been consistency on the coaching staff. Not just O’Brien so my take away from this game is Rc called his best one in a very long time. The pats offense helped due to Brady being on the decline and having jag receivers. I want to see it again next week. O’Brien called a good game. I like the fact he gave Watson (best player on the field) a chance to pass on numerous 1st downs. Good job Ob I’m proud of you.

The Patriots wide receiver core has been cut and sliced all season. Them boys was not getting any separation at all. How is that on Brady? Credit to our entire defense especially the secondary for playing their best game.

I think our secondary went from a weakness to a strength. These guys can all move. Just wish there were less missed tackles.

Yeah. Multiple first round picks = tons of talent at db. They have a veteran safety in Mike Adams (37) JJo (35) to learn from and one of the best receiving cores with hop. One of these guys are destined to break out as a star and Roby looks like he’s already there. I didn’t hear Conley name at all tonight but if he played man, that’s really impressive

HOUSTON TEXANS
Bradley Roby made some plays for the Houston secondary in coverage. In addition to his two interceptions, he also made a couple of stops in coverage. It wasn't a perfect night by Roby, though. He had a chance to send the Patriots off the field on a 3rd-and-17 play late in the third quarter but missed on a – relatively easy tackle attempt on Ben Watson to surrender the first down.

Houston got to Tom Brady for the sack a few times, but all in all, they really didn't generate a ton of pressure. Whitney Mercilus was especially quiet off the edge in a game where he saw 50 pass-rush opportunities.

Deshaun Watson gave the Patriots' defense problems all night long. His best two passes came on back-to-back plays in the third quarter. The first was knocked lose as Will Fuller went to ground, while the second was a touchdown pass to Kenny Stills.

DeAndre Hopkins only caught four passes for 67 yards, but all four went for first downs. And when the Texans needed a big play, Hopkins was always around to make a play. Hopkins beat Stephon Gilmore a handful of times in the contest, as well.

New England Patriots

Tom Brady was uncharacteristically inaccurate against Houston. There were a couple of drops in there, but the future Hall of Famer missed a handful of throws you'd expect an NFL QB to make. He also made more turnover-worthy plays than big-time throws.

It was a middle-of-the-road performance from New England's offensive line in pass protection. One player who stood out positively, though, was Shaq Mason. Dropping back to pass block close to 60 times, the Patriots right guard surrendered a couple of pressures at most but didn't surrender any hits or sacks.

The New England defensive front did their job against the run. The Texans' run game only managed 52 yards on 19 carries, as the Patriots forced the Texans to win through the air.

The Patriots' secondary had issues against the Texans throughout the night. They were unable to make the plays in the key spots to get off the field. The Texans converted over 50% of the time on third down and recorded zero turnovers throughout the game.

Can we all take one thing away? That defense is overrated as all hell. This is no historic defense. They are an above average defense with a great coordinator, and playing weak ass competition.
I thought that until I saw them Squash Dallas. I understand that offense has issues as well, but they're talent & will expose a bad defense.

The Patriots defense is overrated, but they aren't bad.

Hargreaves played fairly well up until the last ne drive. We got to see why Tampa cut him for his effort. These coaches and his teammates need to light him up for it. Make him accountable.

I expected this game to be a win for Houston, and I'm thrilled by the way it mostly went. Definitely glad to have Roby back. Martin is coming around. The Clowney trade isn't looking quite as bad as it did upon it's execution. Basically Conley, Martin, and a throw-in. I think the secondary, as bad as it was early this season may become a solid unit with a few more weeks of cohesive play. They could turn scary about the time the playoffs start. Say what you will about Fuller, but this offense is miles better with him on the field than not. I know he didn't blow up the stat sheet tonight, but he demands attention that frees up so many other targets. Nice to see the RB out of the backfield catching passes. I'd love to see it more.

Watson is a stud. He just is. Can't say much more than that.

I'll never understand playing so soft with a late lead. That almost turned into a disaster. I don't get why you would completely clam up in the last 5 minutes when you've been pretty much having your way with the other team for the first 55. That goes for both sides of the ball. Don't do the other team any favors to give them hope like that. I know Brady had an off night, but giving him any hope of being able to tie late is never a good plan. Play the way you played the whole game, and strangle the last bit of life out that kind of opponent, unless they make you stop. They were one play away from having a real fight on their hands with a guy that has made a career of late comebacks on limited time. Hell, he's even done it against this team and staff. Don't do that!

Hard to say where we're at exactly after getting handled by the Ravens, but it's a possibility that we just witnessed a turning point for the team under BOB. It was the type of win that can get a team's confidence going and this thing could start to steamroll. I think that we're very close to things having gelled for Watson if we're not there already. He's become the field general you want out there and he's reading defenses quickly and he showed the patience tonight he needs if he's going to consistently take what defenses are giving him. We're on the map if the game has slowed down for Watson and the OLine has gelled as well. That was the case tonight so let's see if we can keep from going backwards from here.

Other thoughts: The secondary was legit tonight. This is going to have to continue to win playoff games. Martin can get after the QB. NE is overrated. Not saying that to take away from tonight's win because we took the game from them. They're a playoff team that finds a way to win, but we were the better team and it wasn't close. Duke Johnson 6 targets tonight. It was clearly a point of emphasis to get him the ball -- not sure why it took so long to make this happen but great job of creating mismatches w/ Duke tonight. We can win the Super Bowl this year with this team. The talent's there and this win could catapult us into another level of play.

Off the top of my head only thing that bothers me is defense tends to take its foot off the gas at the end. Not sure if that’s RAC or the players but going forward they can’t do that.

Hargreaves I think some are being a little hard on him because of his history. He was solid most of the night until after that bell ringer he took. If we had drafted him or spent a ton on him I’d be pissed but given we got him on an early Black Friday sale and he’s been ok for us so far I’m willing to let this one slide for now. Not like we have a ton of people lining up to fill the spot.

I've gotta say, this, to me, is more impressive than last year's 9 game win streak where you just knew we were smoke and mirrors.

I honestly don't know how the defense is doing the things they're doing. The secondary has been an anybody with a pulse type deal, and they're somehow not getting torched. Now that said, I don't know who that guy wearing #12 for the Pats was. He looked old and slow like I've never seen before. And the Pats offense in general, was just out of sync for most of the game. But still, the Texans shutting him down for about 2 1/2 quarters, and actually getting some hits on him....pretty impressive considering their pass rush is supposed to be dead. And I thought even more so with Scarlett out.

Has OB just been holding everything back to use it against the Patriots? Getting Duke involved in the pass game, the razzle-dazzle with the Nuk to Watson TD pass, it just seemed like some kind of role reversal Freaky Friday stuff going on. The Pats were the paper tiger, not us? Dare I say OB outcoached Belichick?

The run game is still a problem. Carlos Hyde is struggling big time.

I don't like the way the defense stopped what they were doing late in the game.

But other than that, a very impressive win for a change.

This was a outstanding performance from the secondary and we got some pass rush which helped too.

Run game is a concern we haven't ran well since the bye. Is it us or have we just faced some good front 7's.

This might be the worst WR group the Pats have had during their run and it seemed like other than Edelman Brady doesn't know what to expect from play to play. He misses Gronk bad too.

You may say I’m a dreamer but I’m not the only one
These night games used to be one of my favourite things about this sport, but these days I can’t stay up till 5am in the morning due to responsibilities.
So I went to bed last night expecting a competitive loss.
What a stunning performance, the level of raw talent in the secondary to be able to take the game away from Tom Brady was a real treat to see.
Stills and Fuller, when they are healthy, completely set the tone.
Hopkins was being kept quiet by Gilmore at the start of the game and then had his way later on.

Titans are the only team that stand in the texans way of winning the south
True. And now we're looking at the last four games of the season and two of them are with the Titans. Looks like fun.

The schedule favors the Texans. Two of your last four are against teams with losing records, the Bucs and next week in Denver. The danger is Denver being a trap game, having a let-down after defeating the Pats. But this is a home game so that's less likely. And for the Bucs game, it's going to depend on which Bucs team shows up....led by the good Winston or the horrible Winston. For the Titans, we have a harder game next week going all the way out to the Hole to play Oakland. And we've historically been lousy on the west coast. And our other game is against New Orleans, one of the elite teams of the league. The only good thing about that game is that it's an NFC team. All the others are must wins for the Titans to guarantee a playoff spot.

Ur apology should be as loud as Ur disrespect was
Ahhhhh nothing like a week off hunting and fishing to recharge the batteries yeah!? Top it off with an asswhipping of the evil empire?? How good was that? I savored the victory more after catching up on all the "awesome" posts I missed last week. You guys were busy!! Seems like the Deshaun Hate Squad will have to suck it up another week. Maybe he will figure out how to read blitzes at some point? LOL.

It was good to see a proactive attack, even if littered with the usual inside runs and screens. In order for Deshaun Watson to "read the blitz and find the open guy" there needs to be .. open guys. If you dont attack a defense in multiple levels via the passing game then its just 4 dudes running down the field and then trying to get open. Last night I saw a more concerted effort in using natural rubs and bunch formations - mind you, OBriens bunch or stack leaves alot to be desired, but at least its there. Lets work on the shallow exit route from that trip set as we go. Tight End inclusion was nice to see again after a few week absence, funny what that does to offensive rhythm huh? Duke Johnson is this teams best running back, it was nice to see him treated as such. Hyde is just a battering ram, and should be the short down/distance guy IMO. Duke can be a 3 down back, and opens up so many more plays for this offense. Bringing him in every other series or solely on passing downs is poor use of the talent.

All of Deshauns scoring plays last night came from a moving pocket. Hmmm. Maybe we should use that more. Like. Every week. Be that team that gets known for the "moving pocket" plays or whatever you want. It puts Deshaun at the apex of his skill set. Having him stand in the pocket and "deliver the ball" with the way this OL has been playing is just dumb.

On that note .. WHAT THE !@#$ HAPPENED TO THE OFFENSIVE LINE!?!? Holy crap they were playing so good a few weeks ago, and now its like last year all over again, and thats WITH TUNSIL, SHARPING AND MARTIN in there!!! Dont get me started on Tunsil. Im convinced that dude is out there playing high on marijuana thats the only logical explanation when a guy CONTINUALLY is jumping offsides. How many more penalties last night? His run blocking is pathetic for a supposed "all pro" type guy, and the penalty problem? Does not equal a 100M contract from me, and even more painful giving away 2 1st round picks for that is heartbreaking. But yeah "he's a really good pass blocker". Tough scene, hope they can play better.

ROMEO CRENNEL. My man. TT's red headed step child. Composed another masterpiece last night. Triple B in effect all night. Took away Edelman early and Tommy Boy didnt know what to do! RAC drew up some EXOTIC fronts, and brought some DBS on new blitz packages I had not seen yet. Just an awesome display of coordination, knew what they wanted to do, and took it away. LBs came in dressed as a SWAT team and they took down the bad guys, they were thumping!! LOL @ "Martin is only .5 sacks away from JD Clowney blah blah" its funny (shows a shortsighted view on team value but I LIKE IT LOL) it was good for him to get out there and do the only thing he does well and get after the QB. Give him the Elephant and tell him to go Bobby Boucher at the snap of the ball. It keeps him out of the run game where he's a liability on the edge. Good game from him. DJ Reader is a pro bowl NT and had another great game last night 2 gapping the living hell out of the Pats.

Special teams did their jobs and it was a solid ALL 3 PHASES win.

So in the spirit of "team building" that has been going on around here for the last week regardless on who you "hate" I give you guys this!:
