I still refuse to believe that this OLine won't be decent this year. There's too much talent there to be horrible even though that's how they look so far. Since I think our season is going to hinge on OLine play, I voted 8-10 cause I think it eventually comes together.

4 games or less. Probably all in the division and maybe one outside. Thinking Tampa Bay, Carolina or Denver. I will go with Denver. We will start the season 1-4. If lucky.

With luck gone our chances of beating the colts improve and this team will find a way to win 8 or even 9 games. This is mostly due to assuming Watson stays healthy. In other words more of the same. As long this blowhard is at the helm we should all expect one and done in the playoffs AGAIN.

8-10. The team is talented and there is solid continuity.

To get above 10 we'll need some real growth in some areas (Secondary, OL).

Injuries might drop us below 8, especially if its Watson.

Voted 4 or less. Much tougher schedule this year. I don't have any faith in the offensive line nor O'Brien's ability to cover up the weakness with his "scheme". I also don't know what to make of the cornerback situation though I hope to be pleasantly surprised. Regardless it's going to be tough when Hopkins and Watson are the only two offensive players I have faith in to get things done. Sure wish Keke and Lamar were able to play week 1.

I have said 6-8 wins all spring but with as indecision on the starting oline plus Watson is still holding the ball too long I am cutting it down to 5. We were lucky he survived the season last year and with the same issues the odds of him lasting 16 games again just aren't in the Texans favor.

Texans also face better QB's than they did last year and the CB issues are still there and we know what the record is when the game becomes a shootout.

I’m working towards my second career. Taking four classes in the Fall. I predict I won’t be tempted to turn on the TV on Sundays and will instead spend that time studying. Which will be more fun.

I saw mention of this somewhere that reminded me of something pretty important. Turnovers. The Texans had the 2nd best turnover differential last year with the 4th most takeaways and 3rd fewest giveaways. That can make a huge difference in how successful you are as the top 7 last year in turnover differential made the playoffs.

Those turnovers in the Texans favor certainly helped keep points off the board from their opposition and added numerous FG opportunities for them to barely win the games they did.

If they don't get something close to the +13 they had last year, they will struggle to win 6.

The 4-12 team had the 5th worst turnover differential.

I picked 4 or less. The offense doesn't look functional, the defense won't be as good, and the schedule is tough

These win totals should have names in order to help decide which to pick.

4 or less - Watson and Watt have season ending injuries
5-7 - Stinky, but not enough for Billy to lose his jobs
8-10 - Kool-Aid, Kool-Aid tastes...great!
11-13 - Put down the crack pipe
14-16 - We're talking about 1st half holding penalties, right?

This team is a hot mess. I voted 5-7 wins, thinking that we'll have 4 wins and an extra that surprises everyone midseason. I honestly see us drafting in the 8-10 range next year.

dang i really thought "8-10" would win this easily but "5-7" by a landslide?? Yeeeesh!

edit: i think we sweep the AFC South (whoopty doo) 6 wins. Then Deshaun walks on water for about 3 games and we're back to where it all started. 9-7 AFC South Champs and a first round playoff embarrassment.

3-5 …. assuming Watson makes it thru the season.

If he doesn't , they wont win a game play.

Cant believe we're doing this for the 3rd straight year on the OL.

Rest of the team , if healthy appears to be pretty solid. Could use another Corner and pass rusher but who couldn't ?

Where's all this talent you are talking about ?

I think they have shown they are who we thought they were …. and that's not good or even average.

I think we will be lucky to win 6 games. Our offense just doesn't pass the eye test and we are starting the season thin/hurt at RB, QB and OL. Not to mention the schedule is too tough to expect more.

9-7.

Death, taxes, and a BOB 9-7 season. Wouldn't be surprised if it was 7-9 or 8-8 either.

Based on all the injury news in the preseason and their seemingly bumbling front office, I could see a 5-11 or 3-13 season or something that could get the Chin fired. Kinda starting to seem like they are snakebitten this year.

Hope I'm wrong.

I'm almost hoping the Texans go 2-14 so OB get's fired and yayhoos have to find something different to bytch about

IF we trade away our pick, we will be under 4 wins and it will result in a first overall.

OB will still be here.

IF we keep the pick, it will be middle of the pack and we will probably take an LT that should go no sooner than 2nd round.... so maybe around 7-9 or 8-8

OB will still be here.

I gave my thoughts on the OLine in the post linked below so I won't rehash it all again but I used the words serviceable there and decent above. The talent is there to be good enough to not completely handicap the offense as it has been the last couple of years. It's not a question of talent but playing the best guys in the right position. Which doesn't include Kalil, Martin or Scharping IMO but that's probably who they'll roll with.

I thought 6-8 wins was likely all spring, but losing Miller could be killer to an offense that isn't good enough to overcome losing their best runner for the entire season. I think 5-6 is likely now and that is assuming Watson is able to last 16 games.

6-10 with a steak of losses to start the season.

Clowney deal may or may not happen but some kind of trade will in which we spend to much. OB will mortgage our next draft in favor of extending his chances this season.

It wont help.

By week 8 Devlin and or the oc will be offered up as sacrificial lambs to "fix" the problem. The team will respond with a 2 game win streak before injuries take their toll and we return to the crap that this team actually is.

Once we're eliminated from playoff contention rumors of retirement by RAC and JJ both will begin. 1 will go.

We'll find out just how brittle fullerV and Cutee are because at least one won't finish the year.

A rift between Easterby and OB will ignite at seasons end with talk of E becoming the GM. This will fall through after a tantrum by OB akin to his oz fiasco in the locker room. E will substantially quit.

Cal, desperate for a solution will once again reach out to Caserio. After watching our franchise sh*t the bed, Caserio will opt out of coming here. While that GM hunt plays out all the best available Hc prospects will be hired leaving few alternatives...

OB will get an extension.

Somewhere behind closed doors, Watson will decide staying here and enduring the beating he has will cost us. If he's going to cut his career in half playing for a perineal loser with no offensive line he'll be paid handsomely...

And thus, the Watson non signing, franchise tag, hold out, trade drama saga will begin...

From what I've seen this preseason, everything hinges on Watson staying healthy and his receiving corps. Since the few minutes that he has played this preseason that I have seen, he still holds on to the ball too long for whatever reason. Our defense I'm not worried about and special teams is average. So 8 to 10 wins is my selection with a slow start since the main group does not play during the preseason and it usually takes 2 to 3 real games to gel, or not..

8 wins maybe. Defense will keep us in games until they just can't because our offense will continue to struggle to put more than 20 points up a game again.
