DeAndre Hopkins played injured in playoff blowout.

The stupidity of this organization is blinding.. J.J. all over again.

"Last year was tough, not just physically but mentally," Hopkins said. "It's the most banged up I've ever been playing football.

"I was dealing with serious injuries a lot of people would have sat down for. But we had a good team that depended on me, and I never gave a thought to not playing unless the doctors told me I couldn't."

The two-time All-Pro Hopkins said that during Houston's 21-7 wild-card loss to the Indianapolis Colts he suffered torn ligaments but played through it.

"I tore ligaments in my shoulder completely off the bone," he said. "I tried to play even though I had only one (good) arm. We had a good team, and we had something good going. I know they needed me. It was hard."

yeah already posted somewhere in another thread... we know he had a painful shoulder injury in most of the last playoff game, but don't recall other serious injuries last year

Old news but not sure how it’s the organization’s fault. He was injured yes, so did the other two WRs and theirs was season ending. Would you have preferred that they say “Yelp no point in even trying in this playoff game, go ahead and pull everyone injured and next year we’ll try and get to the playoffs with no injuries”.

Guys get hurt playing football and sometimes you have to play hurt because the big game is on the line. It’s one of the few things that might justify how over paid football players are.

Cough**Emmitt Smith v. Giants**cough.

Injured, asked for the ball and delivered one of the most dominant drives in NFL history. You could see his pain.

He also played most of the season with an injured foot. Let's see, a bad foot and a torn off ligament in a shoulder couldn't possibly impede an NFL receiver could it. The guy still put up top numbers in the league. The shoulder bit his and the team's butt in the playoffs though.

Shoulders are hanging on by a string to begin with. It's not a gut it out injury like broken ribs. Sh!t just doesn't work.*

* or doesn't work in certain ways. I can pull a bow. Can't throw a ball. Anything over the top or rotation is long gone.

Difference is Hop can catch the ball with one hand. So he can rest the hurt shoulder. Just as I catch a baseball with gloved hand only, this is personal style.

Pain vs. injury decision, similar to Smith Vs. Giants. Yeah, it hurt, but it didn't hurt anything.

One of the gutsiest performances ever. 220 lb 5% body fat man, tears coming down his face demanding the ball. And Jimmy Johnson was smart enough to know it was going to inspire the team. Most coaches would have pulled him. Jimmy was "this is Emmitt's game."

Ur apology should be as loud as Ur disrespect was
Its hard to keep these guys out of big games when dinged up and shouldnt be playing, but you leave that on the player if the injury is one that you cant really worsen. You really gonna tell a guy who basically carried this team all year that you think he should sit out the biggest game of the year so that he will be ready for next year and beyond? Nahh doesnt work like that. It is what it is .. since we lost its a "team screwed the pooch how dare they!!" but if we would have won DeAndre provides historic type heroics and is remembered for that for the rest of franchise history. Thats how sports go. I wouldnt put this at the feet of the team or team doctors.

I once saw a guy named Deshaun Watson play a pretty important game with a torn ACL. And he won it.
