[These predictions are made by the teams respective beat writers.]

AFC SOUTH

Houston Texans
Full schedule | Predicted record: 9-7

Read the analysis from Sarah Barshop.

Indianapolis Colts
Full schedule | Predicted record: 11-5

Read the analysis from Mike Wells.

Jacksonville Jaguars
Full schedule | Predicted record: 8-8

Read the analysis from Michael DiRocco.

Tennessee Titans
Full schedule | Predicted record: 11-5

In other words, beat writers are fairly optimistic. Especially the one in Tennessee

Texans 6-10
Jaguars 6-10
Hate to say but that's a strong possibility if not likely outcome in 2019. Colts are clearly the team to beat this year in our diviison.
They've have been incredibly fortunate in their Drafts: getting Luck and then again when picking high other QBs in the Draft brought them multiple high picks in trades.

Kansas City Chiefs. Anyone in the division beating the Chiefs? Strong possibility? 50/50? No chance in Hell!

Chargers, same thing. What are the chances of each AFCSouth team against the Chargers?

Denver Broncos?

Oakland?

I think it's highly unlikely any of our teams will beat the Chiefs. Colts have a good chance, but not much better than us.

The Chargers, I think we & the Colts most likely beat them. The Titans & Jags 50/50

The Broncos will probably be beat by every Afcsouth team.

The Raiders won't win against the South.

Colts took Texans out of playoffs handily. Their OL is both young and talented. Luck seems like an old school, crafty throwback and he is now 100%. Texans have lost more in free agency than they gained, don’t really care how you spin it. Colts focused on keeping their own free agents and picked up Justin Houston. In the draft they select #26 just three selections after Texans, unless Texans trade up to address OT (doubt) or trade back (likely) to fill more holes, Colts add equal player grade wise so in reality very little, Gained.

Bottom line, Colts are the ascending team in the AFC South. While rest battle out pecking order. This is why, 2019 draft class, will be most important to date in Texan franchise history.

I think there's a chance the defense got better if the three young guys take a step up under Crennel.

Of course that's assuming Clowney isn't holding out

yet to be proven, what Texans lost in the backend was proven and reason they got paid.

Kareem had only two less tackles than Matthieu and one less than Reid (87/89) that's 177 tackles combined off the books. However he led safety's in TFL with 5 and 2 forced fumbles.

From what I read his coverage ability is on a downtrend and he's not young anymore. The fact that Crennel didn't even want to offer him anything makes me think there is a red flag there. And Denver wants to play him at cb lol

Kareem's passes defended numbers were great this year as well. Still hoping Roby is an upgrade. I'll believe it is if we're playing more press man in 2019.

I thought they wanted him for a safety, for which I thought they paid too much. If they're going to use him as a hybrid CB/FS, I can see why they paid him. That's the role he played for us last year.

But we needed to move on. We need a starting CB & he's not a $10M starting CB.

Sounds like they're not sure how they'll use him:

"The guy has played a lot of positions in the NFL. He started as a corner, a nickel and a safety. That's what we like. We just liked the way he played football and we knew we were building this defense. We'll plug him in where he best suits us."

It's not yet clear where Jackson will play most of the snaps in his first season in the Mile High City, but there's no question whether he'll be on the field.

"He'll be out there somewhere," Fangio said. "Where, I don't know. And I'm being honest with you."

I'm changing this prediction. I just saw the Chiefs have traded for Frank Clark. I no longer believe the Colts or the Texans have a 50/50 chance to win that game.

I'm officially changing my position to No chance in hell.

I wonder if 6-10 is enough for McNair and Co to break out with the pink soap ?!

Unless Watson plays out of his mind , I don't see them with a record better than that … they lost key pieces to the defense and didn't address the main weakness on offense …. and OB still doesn't know what to do with a TE.

They really better nail this draft , coming away with 4-5 players that contribute out of the gate …. two OL , two corners , at least one DL and that doesn't address any skill positions on offense.

I think he's on the hotseat …. and if they go 7-9 or less its quite likely he's outa here.

And (Pre-Draft) I question their ability to reach 7-9 because they didn't address any of the glaring holes on either side of the ball and every team in the division got better.
All three of those teams could win 10-11 games.

You expect them to win games against the Raiders , Bronco's , Ravens and Buc's …. but beyond that , not so much. The list of QB's they'll face this season is impressive …. with a questionable secondary.

I'm not expecting much from this years Texans.

The Chiefs are probably the AFC representative in the big one. Hell its "possible" they win them all. They will likely be favored in every game they play by the odds makers.

Who else do you see winning their divisions ?

KC
NE
Dolts
…. AFC North is anyone's guess. It could even be the Browns …. That division is just bad.

Now pick two wildcard teams.

Jax
Chargers.

Ravens

Colts got better in FA , Texans didn't , hell they may have taken a step backwards … Colts spanked the Texans twice last season.

For me to believe this Texans team has a shot at the division , they have to absolutely nail this draft.

I don't think Ravens take the North... whose their QB again...

And watch out for the Browns to be in the playoffs

I really like Gipson, Roby, & Body-Calhoon (& a healthy Colvin) better than Kjax & Mathieu. The only thing I don't like about it is the one year deal for Roby. But as far as 2019 goes I think our secondary will be better.

Offensively, I'm betting on a healthy WR corps & I think we'll hang with the Colts in the Division race.

I'm high on the Browns. But I'm not going to say they're going to win anything until they do.

Did they? Perhaps a bit against the run, but I think they improved a lot in coverage

Lamar Jackson ?! He may as well be a running back and they should run the old wishbone ….

I cant see the Ravens winning that division with that at QB.

Pittsburgh …. they took a step back losing two really solid offensive players …. Ben's not getting any younger. They were better last year than they are now .... but this division is up in the air.

The Browns …. if they get in the playoffs , they'll have to do it by winning the division - Quite a reasonable task IMO , that division just isn't very good and they have made huge improvements. Mayfield …. may be the best QB in that division going forward.

Cincy …. 1-5 in the division ?
