Because JB asked..

TexSon Proud
I disapprove of open ended titles but...

Because JB asked.. what would this board have said when the Oilers pissed away their insurmountable lead vs the Bills in 92'? (It was 92' right?)

Just for grins of course, but personally it was that travesty that kept me from caring they left.
Well.. that's bs I was heartbroken but you feel me.

Side note: Thanks to the Texans for coming back and at least pushing the spread. :corrosion:

Missed the Bills debacle but I was at the Astrodome for the KC meltdown the next year. 1st experience with Houston fans and the ingrained sense of doom.

Look at it this way, y'all would have been murdered by the Cowboys those seasons and I know the last thing Houston fans want is to lose to the Cowboys. Would have been cool to have an all Texas SB though.

I was there for KC too.

And no way we would have beat those Cowboys.

Lol, the year before I was in San Fran and everyone was rooting for the Bills because the Cowboys had beaten the Niners. They were talking so much sh!t knowing I was the lone Cowboys fan. Room got quiet as the Cowboys hung 52 pts on the Bills.

Oh yeah, All Texas Super Bowl would be the best!

That would be cool generally, have always wanted to see an all Texas SB. I always rooted for the Oilers unless they were playing the Cowboys. It would also turn a one-sided rivalry into an actual rivalry.

Folks want to beotch about the McNairs. Jerry Jones is the paragon of ego over winning. If he could have controlled himself and let Jimmy go that team would have won 4 maybe 5 in a row.

Side note, I know he's an ass but Deion was great. The true shut down corner. He was laying off receivers to bait QBs to throw his way. Best closing speed ever.

Interesting. Are you currently a Texans fan first or a Cowboys fan? Just curious.

I’m in the same boat, I grew up a Cowboys fan (before earl) and then became a huge oilers fan.

Still am a huge Cowboys fan, just not when playing the Texans.

Was on my way to Academy that day to buy my Stars if we hadn’t of gotten the expansion team.

I grew up with Roger Staubach and a Cowboys team that went to 20 of 21 playoffs missing only the strike year. How could you not be a fan?

And Staubach lived across the alley from my buddy. Played pick up basketball. His hands are f*cked. Years later ended up in the same office building as him. He's all, "I know you."

I'm a Cowboys fan too!!!... well today at least :fostering: :)

In all seriousness.. I don't understand the Houston envy at all.. the damn teams don't even play in the same damn conference. I guess it's all the "America's team" crap.. people need to let it go.. until we actually meet in a SB, there can't be a rivalry.

Now in the professional sports leagues where our teams actually compete against each other and have a rivalry...WE WIN AND OWN THAT! :)

That’s really cool.

What’s wrong with his hands?

That’s really cool.

What’s wrong with his hands?

Joints are for lack of a better word kattywompus.

My hands are fxcked from years of mountain bike & motorcycle riding. Looking back, his are far worse. Not trying to compare mine, just I can recognize the signs. His pinkie on his throwing hand goes at a 30. Knuckles enlarged and stiff. Has to hurt. That's an understatement, hurts all the time.

But he is eternally cheerful in person. Constantly joking, self-deprecating. Genuine nice guy.

Nah, it's a combination of jealousy and cowboy fans yelling 5 RINGS in our face all the time knowing Houston pro football has never even made it to 1

The fact that they have continued to do it with 25 years of fail themselves just makes it worse

Its not envy buddy & truthfully in my experience, its not so much a "rivalry" with the cowboys so much as it is a Houston v Dallas rivalry.

I was always an Oiler fan and never a Cowboy fan. I've put up with Cowboy fans my entire life and hate the Cowboys.

At the rate we're going though, the Cowboys will always have the historical side in their favor.

Yeah, I was fan of both but got to see a lot more of Cowboys as the Oilers were never on TV

Except Houston is a much better city.

Not going to agree with that. It's nouveau riche v strip mall hell.

I'm jaundiced by the fact Houstonians hate my three favorite things, bicycling, motorcycling and dogs.

On the 1st 2, in Houston you are waiting for a car door to f'ck you. Just because. Dragged a guy out of his truck on Memorial for that.

On dogs, WTF kind of germaphobe p@ssies? Can't go anywhere in Houston without someone beotching about germs or breed. "No dumbass, he is not the world's largest pitbull. He's a full blood boxer." "Sir, can you leave." In Austin they are offended if you don't bring your dog in.

That’s Austin, Austin is awesome.

I could live in Houston but not Dallas.

It was January of 1993. There was more than 1 report of someone shooting their TV.

This board would crash........

I could live in Houston but not Dallas.

Grew up in Alief, moved to Dallas as a teen mainly Lewisville, Dallas was fun as a 20 something. My mom lives in Austin, love Austin but man that traffic is insane and I’ve lived in Phoenix the last 17 years but Austin traffic, too many moving there to soon for the infrastructure I guess

Hopefully it’s getting worked out especially with apple moving in.

Man I lived in Austin for almost 10 years plus I went to the Deaf school there growing up (Houston resident but dorm student during the school year). There isn’t a town that I hate more than Austin.

Who celebrates homelessness? Austin that’s who.

Ugh.

Dope on nearly every street corner.

Ugh.

Longhorn fans everywhere.

Ugh.

Plus the traffic is mind-numbing.

Ugh.

I’ll take LA’s traffic any time.

Dallas, Cowboys or city, just doesn't care. The whole thing is one sided envy.

Lol, no. Dallas does not compete with Houston on any level and the fact that you think it's one sided envy on Houstonians part pretty much says it all. Dallasites have seemingly taken that 1980's JR Ewing **** and adopted it to make themselves feel more important. Truth is, outside of Texas, they are only known for that 1980's sitcom the Cowboys............& .for getting the president knocked off; a stain they will forever be trying to wash off. That's why its funny that most Cowboys fans hate Jerrah....fake. He is a living embodiment of what Dallas has become & he fits in perfectly up there.

Simple solution. Live 3 blocks from downtown. I can walk anywhere.

Lol, you're delusional. But thanks for the example.

There are good things to Houston. It was great learning admiralty law because Houston is semi on a coast. It was one of the last bastions for plaintiffs so as a defense attorney I went up against the very best as a pup. (I cannot tell you the value of going up against the best in the country v some jackass). The food is phenomenal, very underrated, and eclectic. Kids always want vietnamese, thai or sushi when asked.

But MFer is flat and hostile. Riding in Marin County was a soothing relaxation. Riding in Houston was when am I going to get in a fight.

Dallas, Cowboys or city, just doesn't care. The whole thing is one sided envy.

It’s not envy. It’s the same reason why Browns, Seahawks, Patriots, Saints, and Chiefs fans hate Dallas Cowboys.

Their fan base is awful. Truly deplorable. It’s their fan base waving around rings before the Texans even could decide on a name. It’s their fan base who talks (just like you) about rings like their team has done something in the past two decades. ****, there are Cowboy fans who talk about championships that weren’t even alive to witness them. They are barely becoming of age to drink.

It’s not the Texans fans that hate the Cowboys, it’s the entire ******* NFL.

The only team people may hate more is the Patriots. And that’s because they are successful in a modern era.

If it’s one sided it’s all on the Cowboys who envy the Texans success. At least we have won multiple playoff games in the last two decades.

Hey we had a pretty stout D those years so who knows if “we would’ve been murdered” but if we would’ve lost it most-certainly would’ve been in some torturous, cruel or humiliating way. We just had a way of doing that to ourselves and yea not having to hear that for the rest of my life from Cowboys fans is just fine with me. I think I’ve ran into a couple Bills fans, one Notre Dame guy and I’ve never met a NC State fan thank god.

Must be why they sell so much merchandise.

And we're back to pure delusion.

That team didn't depend on a tuck rule or field goal to win. It was the most dominant team I've seen. Happen to be fan yes, but for balanced dominance, damn.

Yea there is no doubting the greatness of that core in all 3 phases for that period of time. Hell, when you can when a Super Bowl with Barry “hot dog” Switzer at HC you know you got a great team.

Rings. Championships. What the f ever.

When the championship argument taken away something as irrelevant as merchandise sales comes up. Can’t talk about their lack of success in the last two decades something else comes up that they have to cling to. Those Dez and Romo jerseys must have been a good investment.

Just like Texian was a true Colts fan, you are a true Cowboys fan.
