**Official Game-Day Thread** Texans at Redskins, Sunday Nov 18, 2018!!

Dude, if you wanna defend OB, that's fine. Yes, not EVERY decision he makes is wrong. But if you're acting like he's some kind of great coach, you're delusional.

Lol, check any of my posts...I’ve never said or have acted like he was a great coach.

That’s just the perception around here b/c I’m not part of the tar and feather crew.

Everyone wanna get all up in arms cause it was a struggle win. Well you know what!
It doesn’t matter Brian, that’s 7 in a row.
The fact we are coming out on top in them is what encourages me - it would be a real downer to lose them.
Also, Lady Luck is smiling on them - let's hope we keep on finding favour with that girl.
I just hope we find another solution with that oline.

We could end the season at 13 - 3...

Next Monday
Titans Mariota is hurt
Browns is well the Browns
Colts will be the hardest game left
Jets are struggling
Eagles look like a different team then last year
Jaguars = bortels

Better play so much better next week indy is looking like we are the only team holding them back !

Yeah...Indy is going to be a problem..they couldn’t hold them earlier this year when they were struggling to come together as they gave up 34 pts....they’re playing much better since then.

Titans are hot and cold and cannot be underestimated - they have a D.
Browns are NOT the Browns of recent seasons. DNU.
Colts will be a real test.
Jets are struggling.
Eagles will be very hard to beat.
Jags D could be a problem - we struggle against a good pass rush and our line is in tatters.

Who is in a better position to react, the guy 3 ft away with the DE bearing down that is his responsibility or the QB 3 yds away scanning the field?
Looking at the play again, there was no OL near the D man who broke through (and out of the line of sight of the OL). He ran through between Griffin and Hopkins.
Watson, who instantly turned and was actually looking directly to his right..........right at the D man, had the best view/chance to neutralize that play immediately.

Lol I was at the in laws dumbfounded on the last series. Gruden only needed about 10 yards and they took consecutive shots down field. These gifts just keep coming! Watson had a rough game. First time I've seen him visibly upset about the blocking. I don't have much confidence that the defense can win a game with a stop. Game after game they are they are giving up critical game deciding drives. If we found a new kicker next year I wouldn't be upset.

7-3 is better than 6-4 let's go get revenge on the Oilers.

The power rankings crack me up. Each week the Texans creep up because we keep winning but in my heart I know, man we are pretty crap.

Just wait till that game where we lose by 30 and we tumble 15 spots in those rankings.

This is probably hyperbole but honestly the Texans could win out the entire rest of the season (including the playoffs) and I'd still probably be picking the other team before the game to win. I don't believe in the offensive line, the kicker, the team's ability to put another team away or the team to stay healthy enough in general to win. I want the Texans to win but do I trust this team even with 7 in a row? No way.

Washington OL performed better than Texans OL, both depleted by injuries. Don’t know if it’s coaching or depth issue? Strength vs Strength of DL thought both fought hard, but Redskins found less resistance so Watson could never get his rhythm.

Kareem and secondary once again outplayed opposition. Running game was working for most part better than Skins and Peterson. Then just when you thought it was safe, Alex Smith out of game, momentum swung unexpectedly with turnover and Colt McCoy stepping up like his prime @ Texas.

O’Brian just played percentages. Think if Offensive Line wasn’t such a mess and Watson under constant pressure he could have been more aggressive.

This was a great win against a tough opponent. Hard to win these games each and every week but somehow they do just enough.

I'm probably in the same boat with having no confidence in them. Mainly because of the OL. Before today I would of been fairly confident in Fairbarn.

Let’s not forget, that we missed 2 FGs - and that Colt probably played better than Smith today. I know we got lucky a bit, but if that FG went in, that would’Ve been a pretty unlucky loss.

Yeah, OK. The RT is ALWAYS responsible for the outside rusher. May get chip help etc. but he was the one to react. And that's actually in the rule. Not sure why you want to put it on Watson. The RT is the obvious movement piece.

Responding to your original post. The one where it hit and then was an INT. Not happening.
Ball bounces off hops' hands, off his chest, then DB takes it away. Not a single angle shows the ball hitting the ground before DB secures the ball. If you have a different angle that shows that I'll gladly change my mind. The correct call would have been an int, not a catch/fumble. But there was never a fumble, just taking the ball away from the receiver.

It doesn't matter. The game is over and the Texans won. Period.

I'm not sure I'd rate one OL over the other in this game. They were both awful. Both teams gave up considerably more yards on the ground than they average. The Texans were lucky that the Skins missed a field goal and the Skins were lucky that the Texans missed a field goal and, as they often do, bogged down in the red zone and settled for FGs instead of scoring TDs. The Texans did just enough right to pull out a road win. I'll take it, but this team is in some serious trouble on the OL. IMO, they will be lucky to go 3-3 the rest of the way. 2-4 feels more likely to me, with the Texans beating the Jets and Browns (maybe...).

What puzzles me, is that it's an absolute certain fact for ANY team in the NFL to win 7 in a row means they have to be doing something right, because good luck and stupid opposing coaches will not do all of it for you. Yet the Texans just don't look good, they just don't meet the eyeball test when it comes to an NFL team.

I'm not expecting much out of this season, so I'll take what I get. And honestly, who among us would have seriously said they'd have been 7-3 after the 3rd week?

That field goal attempt was 63 yards. The NFL record is 64 yards. The longest this season is 60 yards. As someone else said, we did enough to win, but that field goal attempt was just a desperation effort that had only an infintestimal chance of success.

Yea except we play the colts and they have the easiest schedule of any team in the nfl . If they win out and we go 3-3 they win!

I rather not count on the other team missing field goals for us to win
Yeah, but a win on the road sweetens it up a bit.

If we get some healthy linemen back plus Will Fuller, the offense might just be that unit we saw last season.
The D could also get a shot in the arm with the return of Dylan Cole and young Cunningham as well.
If that happens, Texans will be a team to be reckoned with.

For next year maybe, not this year. Where would we get any healthy o-lineman now that the trading deadline has past? Other than hiring off the street or raiding another teams practice squad, there isn't a lot left to be done with this o-line for this season.

And that's the drive you bat shit crazy part about this whole damn season. If they were just half way decent in the red zone, none of these games would be close and they'd probably look a lot more like some of the better teams in the league instead of the luckiest 7 game winning streak team in NFL history.

Especially with a kicker who was dealing with a groin issue in his kicking leg all week. They would have had a better chance going for it on 4th down.

Good thing OB called a timeout with 5 seconds left on the play clock. They were disorganized as could be. We gave them a free chance to win it. Good thing they’re worse than we are.

We were lucky to win this one. It's more important to have a placekicker who's dependable from 47 or 48 yds or less than one who can hit from 50+ on occasion. Is Novak still available? Get him back and release Spaghetti Leg.
